A MIG-27 fighter aircraft ofthe Indian Air Force crashed Tuesday in Eta village in Pokaran tehsil ofRajasthan's Jaisalmer district, a defence official said.

印度國(guó)防部一名官員說(shuō)，本周二，印度空軍一架米格27戰(zhàn)斗機(jī)在拉賈斯坦邦Jaisalmer地區(qū)的Pokaran tehsil市的Eta村墜毀。

The pilot ejected safely,Defence spokesperson Col Sombit Ghosh said.

"A MIG 27 aircraftairborne from Jaisalmer crashed during a routine mission today evening. Pilotejected safely. A Court of Inquiry will investigate the cause of theaccident," Ghosh said.

The senior IAF officer alsosaid that more awareness need to be raised about bird activity, which is one ofthe factors for crash incidents, and hinted about civilian habitations nearairfields drawing bird activity.

Earlier airlfields used to belocated in wilderness, but now there is lot of built area near lot of thesebases, and solid waste attracts birds and, chances of accidents increase, hehad said in the press conference.
