Come in sir for you are weary

進(jìn)來吧，先生，看你疲憊不堪（看你瑟縮冰冷困倦）

And the night is cold out there

夜里外面寒風(fēng)刺骨（先生請進(jìn)，屋里和暖）

Though our lives are very humble

盡管你我都如此卑微（你我不分彼此關(guān)愛）

What we have we have to share

我們更該互相分享扶助（要懂得相助互享）

There is wine here to revive you

這一杯暖酒，給你暖胃（溫一杯酒給你暖胃）

There is bread to make you strong

這一塊面包，予你果腹（予你溫飽不致餓慌）

There's a bed to rest till morning

這一張床，伴你天明（一枕一被徹夜入眠）

Rest from pain and rest from wrong

放下過錯(cuò)，放下痛苦（放低苦難痛傷）

他讓我填飽肚皮（這美美的一餐）

I have the lion's share

讓我大快朵頤（予我大快朵頤）

The silver in my hand cost twice what I had earned

我手里銀器是我報(bào)酬的兩倍（這副銀器價(jià)值，會(huì)免我貧困艱難）

In all those nineteen years, that lifetime of despair

整整十九年，到處被人唾棄（人人嫌棄我賤，命運(yùn)落泊多年）

And yet he trusted me

但他卻信任我（佢卻對(duì)我施恩）

The old fool trusted me

這傻子信任我（老匹夫，以施恩）

He'd done his bit of good

對(duì)我大發(fā)慈悲（自認(rèn)做個(gè)好人）

I played the grateful serf, and thanked him like I should

我扮起感激的農(nóng)奴，對(duì)他千恩萬謝（假裝對(duì)他感恩，埋藏著我身份）

But when the house was still

可等到夜深人靜（夜闌人靜以后）

I got up in the night

我半夜起身（潛行夜半出手）

Took the silver

偷走銀器（盜銀器后）

Took my flight!!

Let us see if he's impressed

看他能有多同情（睇睇邊個(gè)咁可恥）

You were lodging there last night

昨晚你在這里借宿（昨夜僥幸得寄駐）

巡警二

You were the honest Bishop's guest.

你是正直的主教的客人（正直嘅主教辦錯(cuò)事）

And then, out of Christian goodness

是他看你可憐（錯(cuò)信卑鄙慣犯故事）

When he learned about your plight

本著基督徒的善心伸出援手（好心都給你敗壞）

You maintain he made a present of this silver -

你聲稱這銀器是他贈(zèng)送給你（聲稱他親手交給你，這些珍貴……）

That is right.

此話不假（係，確係）

But my friend you left so early

但我的朋友，你走得太匆忙（老友遺忘我的心意）

Surely something slipped your mind

是不是落下了什么（走太急真太不智）

You forgot I gave these also

你忘了我還給了你這些（這些夠你重新開始）

Would you leave the best behind?

你怎么能落下最好的呢（豈有不要嘅意思）

So Messieurs you may release him

所以，先生們，請放了他吧（兩位先生，放他去吧）

For this man has spoken true

他所說的一切屬實(shí)（他講的一切非虛）

I commend you for your duty

我贊美你們盡忠盡職（感恩諸君稱職關(guān)注）

And God's blessing go with you.

愿主與你們同在（愿你可得沐恩雨）

But remember this, my brother

不過請記住，我的兄弟（你要給我，一世記?。?/p>

See in this some higher plan

上天自有偉大的安排（縱有天意都要自知）

You must use this precious silver

你要好好利用這些銀器（好好支配這份恩賜）

To become an honest man

去做一個(gè)誠實(shí)的人（要緊守心內(nèi)美好）

By the witness of the martyrs

眾殉道者見證之下（昭昭天理，總有正義）

By the Passion and the Blood

以基督流血受難之名（痛悔當(dāng)初，心里立志）

God has raised you out of darkness

主領(lǐng)你走出這片黑暗（你會(huì)走出暗夜迷途）

I have bought your soul for God!

我已替主贖了你的靈魂（讓心終可獲救贖）
