in black and white

沒錯，跟你想的一樣，黑白色，或者非黑即白的意思！

中國有句俗話叫“一竹竿子打死一船人”，用以說明下結(jié)論不可太武斷，凡事皆有例外，并沒有絕對的好壞和對錯，世界也不是非黑即白的，英語中要表達類似意思，跟中文不謀而合的，那就是 in black and white

For example:

The situation is quite complicated, and you should not judge it in black and white!

情況很復(fù)雜，你不應(yīng)該只是以非黑即白來評判。

black and white 除了是評判事物的標準，還可以是白紙黑字，就像中文里拿著欠條追債時說的一樣，白紙黑字可寫的清清楚楚的！其實英語中也可以這么表達；

For example:

I never thought they'd put it in black and white on the front page.

我沒想到他們會把這白紙黑字地印在頭版上。

have money to burn

是的，看到burn 了， 燃燒的意思，所以你肯定馬上想到了“燒錢”這個意思，所以英語中用來描述土豪花錢不心疼的樣子，就用have money to burn來表達了，俗稱“錢燒得慌”

For example:

She always holds the newly released phone every time when I see her, it seems she has enough money to burn.

每次見到她的時候，她總是拿著最新發(fā)布的手機，看上去很燒錢??！

看來全世界的土豪都是一樣的，花錢如流水，似乎錢永遠花不完。用英語表達也叫Spend money like water~

For example:

Miss Sophie would like to pack almost everything she sees in the shop and spend money like water.

Sophie 小姐花錢如流水，幾乎要把商店里她看到的所有東西買回去！

blood is thicker than water

blood血液， thicker濃的，厚的..所以這句話就是“血濃于水”的意思，同樣是用在強調(diào)親情這一紐帶的重要作用。

For example:

We believe that blood is thicker than water and Tom will help his sister out of trouble soon.

Tom 應(yīng)該會幫助她妹妹的，畢竟血濃于水！

two heads are better than one

聽上去很中式，但這句話真的就是“三個臭皮匠賽過諸葛亮”的英文表達，引申意義同樣是指人多力量大，人多好辦事等等。

For example:

I think we can find a solution to this problem soon if we can do it together, you know, Two heads are better than one!

我覺得大家一起動手的話能很快找到問題的解決方法，因為人多力量大嗎！

be engraved on/in ...heart/brain/heart

“你存在， 我深深的腦海里，我的夢里，我的心里，我的歌聲里…”

engrave 是銘刻，印刻的意思，所以這句話就可以直接理解為“深深銘刻/印在了 我的心里/腦海里/思想里…”等等意思…

For example:

The date of the accident remains engraved on my mind.

事情發(fā)生的那個日子已銘記在我心上。

shut/close one's eyes to ...

turn a blind eye to...

顯然，這句話就是中文里“視而不見,對…熟視無睹”的英語表達了， shut/close 都有關(guān)閉的意思，對某些事閉起眼睛，所以有縱容，不作為等引申意義了，跟中文異曲同工！英文的另外一種表達是：

For example:

You can't just close your eyes to his violence.

你不能對他的暴力行為視而不見。

They seem intent on shutting their eyes to the problems of pollution.

他們似乎打算對污染問題視而不見。

I'm able to ...in my sleep

如何用一句話證明自己很厲害，中文里人們常說：我閉合眼睛也能….，如果要用英文表達這個意思，完全可以說：I’m able to …in my sleep.

For example:

I don’t travel a lot in this city, but I am able to name the main city streets in my sleep.

我對這個城市不是很熟，但是我閉著眼睛也能說出城市的主干道名稱！

其實，英語口語還是以傳遞信息為主，并沒有那么多條條框框的語法規(guī)則，所以流利和用詞恰當最重要了，如果有一定的語法基礎(chǔ)，又有大量的詞匯做后盾，就不要羞于開口了，在某些情況下，甚至說一兩個單詞人家都能理解了，所以be confident （自信）才是更重要的，同時practice makes perfect(孰能生巧)!
