Recent discussions of students’ disciplines have successfully raised people’s attention. Although I understand that, to some people, it would be more realistic to study subjects according to usefulness in future (e.g. those relating to science and technology), I would contend that it is much better for students themselves to choose their favourite subjects
Those who propose studying “useful” disciplines base their ground on the fact that the main purpose of education is to achieve a preparation for future. That is to say, our education system ought to equip students utilitarian skills and knowledge for future employment as our modern era actually relies heavily on science and technology. Resultantly, graduates who master these relevant expertise 不可數(shù) ?are more likely to gain exposures to working opportunities in the future job hunting process . Graduates with the major of computer science, to illustrate, have always been considered as one of the most popular types of candidates amongest employers because of the high demand in market, and their employment prospects are expected to be typically well even at the starting salary .More jealously ,their salary will experience a continual increase till the mid of their working path. Due to such advantages, people often claim it is reasonable that we link the contents of education to future usages.
However, I would argue that we would rather encourage /motivate /drive students to choose what they like to study on their own as personal interests serve as the best impetus of learning. The number of students who drop out from school per year is correlated to the bleak reality. That is, they could not get used to the study imposed on them, not to mention enjoying the learning process, which is a lively proof that unless they feel the inner enthusiasm on study, they would easily give up half way. Besides, we should never label certain subjects as “useful” just because of their relevancy to sci & tech. Though we are in a world where our life has witnessed substantial change with the advance of technology, other disciplines ,such as arts and literature (2020年9月雅思大作文,科技pk arts )also act as an indispensable factor in both social and individual development . In short,/Hence, we shall never neglect students’ own interests and proper balance between science and arts. 可刪除
In conclusion, I would reaffirm my position that we should allow students to learn whatever subjects they like and it would be beneficial not only for themselves but also for societies.
