2. Outline Make the outline easy to do: your figures/tables in a logical sequence could be a fine outline
3. Don't write introduction now
4. Write the methods now
5. Results and discussion now following figs/tabs

Correct the science and clarify the English

Then write the conclusion, and abstract and acknowledgements after that.

Notes are encouraged when making the first draft about what reference is needed BUT don't stop to collect them at that time.
