如果說翻譯界有天花板，那么北京大學(xué)新聞與傳播學(xué)院教授許淵沖先生一定是其中之一。

2021年6月17日上午，一個令人悲痛的消息，許淵沖先生在北京逝世，享年100歲！

許淵沖先生，在軍閥混戰(zhàn)的亂世出生，在戰(zhàn)火中求學(xué)于西南聯(lián)大；27歲留學(xué)法國，30歲學(xué)成歸來...

許淵沖先生還是錢鐘書的得意弟子，還是楊振寧的好友同窗，還是首獲國際翻譯界最高獎“北極光”的亞洲翻譯家！

許淵沖先生名片上的“介紹”最直接“書銷中外百余本，詩譯英法唯一人”

許淵沖先生為何底氣十足？因為就是他讓中國的讀者更好的認識了哈姆雷特，羅密歐與朱麗葉；

也是他，讓外國人了解了李白、杜甫、白居易...

如今，那位“我的名字比名片還響”的許淵沖先生走了，我們用那一段段譯文紀念他。

離別家鄉(xiāng)歲月多，近來人事半銷磨。

惟有門前鏡湖水，春風不改舊時波。

Since I left my homeland so many years have passed;

So much has faded away and so little can last.

Only in Mirror Lake before my oldened door

The vernal wind still ripples water as before.

海內(nèi)存知己，天涯若比鄰

if you have friends who know your heart, distance cannot keep you apart.

曾經(jīng)滄海難為水，除卻巫山不是云

No water’s wide enough when you have crossed the sea; No cloud is beautiful but that which crowns the peak.

千山鳥飛絕，萬徑人蹤滅。

孤舟蓑笠翁，獨釣寒江雪。

From hill to hill no bird in flight;

From path to path no man in sight.

A lonely fisherman afloat,

Is fishing snow in lonely boat.

床前明月光，疑是地上霜。

舉頭望明月，低頭思故鄉(xiāng)。

A tranguil night a bed, I see a silver light;

I wonder if it's frost around.

Looking up, I find the moon bright;

Bowing, in homesickness I’m drowned.

葡萄美酒夜光杯，欲飲琵琶馬上催。

With wine of grapes the cups of jade would glow at night，

Drinking to pipa songs, we are summoned to fight.

尋尋覓覓，冷冷清清，凄凄慘慘戚戚。

I look for what I miss, I know not what it is,

I feel so sad, so drear, so lonely, without cheer.

天高云淡，望斷南飛雁。

The sky is high, the clouds are light,

The wild geese flying south out of sight.

無邊落木蕭蕭下，

不盡長江滾滾來。

The boundless forest sheds its leaves shower by shower;

The endless river rolls its waves hour after hour.

白日依山盡，黃河入海流。

欲窮千里目，更上一層樓。

The sun along the mountain bows;

The Yellow River seawards flows

If you’ll enjoy a grander sight,

You’d climb up to a greater height.

大漠孤煙直，長河落日圓。

In boundless desert lonely smokes rise straight;

Over endless river the sun sinks round.

會當凌絕頂，

一覽眾山小。

Try to ascend the mountain’s crest:

It dwarfs all peaks under our feet.

此情可待成追憶？

只是當時已惘然。

Such feeling cannot be recalled again;

It seemed lost even when it was felt then.

橫看成嶺側(cè)成峰，遠近高低各不同。

不識廬山真面目，只緣身在此山中。

It’s a range viewed in face and peaks viewed from the side,

Assuming different shapes viewed from far and wide.

Of Mountain Lu we cannot make out the true face,

For we are lost in the heart of the very place.
