??The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry was such a page-turning delight that I finished reading it in a week, the major part covered on the subway.

True enough, no man is an island. Asocial weirdo as AJ. was, he had some fantastic connections with all kinds of good-hearted people?on Alice Island through?their shared love for reading, or more precisely, reading physical books.? ? ?

Personally,?I think books are a magician in the sense that they bring right in front of me a new world, either carefully crafted?or faithfully recorded, where I can empathize and come up with new insights and inspirations. Even in the worst-case scenario, books while away the tedious?hours of a journey or start?a conversation between two friends.
