Chinese New Year lasts 15 days and it is the most important festival foe chinese peopl, they also call it Spring Festival. It often falls on a different day in either January or February.
Ant, the compere says “The red lantern is the classic emblem of China. In ancient times, they were used to mark the entrances of houses, and they soon became a sign of joy and festivity. At Chinese New Year, lanterns represent the light of hope.”
The BBC documentary "Chinese New Year" says that Chinese New Year sees the largest annual mass migration on the planet, when a six of the world’s population travels home to celebrate with their families. Just like this Chinese New Year, there are more than 300 million people go back home to get together.
??????When a billion chinese people go back to their hometown from anywhere in the world, chinese people have a phrase for it, Chunyun, with translates as spring migtation.
