英語(yǔ)中，形容詞通常與下面這些介詞連用：

for, with, of, to, towards, at, from, in, on 和 about，

這里重點(diǎn)討論與“to”、“of”、“with”連用的形容詞。有的形容詞后面可以跟不同的介

詞， 有時(shí)意義相同，有時(shí)表達(dá)不同意義，這也是讓學(xué)習(xí)者感到困惑的地方。

1. generous adj 慷慨；大方的。

a. be generous to somebody. 對(duì)某人慷慨。

b. be generous with something. 對(duì)某種東西或事情慷慨。

2. sympathetic adj 同情的

be sympathetic to /towards somebody. 對(duì)某人表示同情。

3. friendly adj 友好的

a. be friendly with somebody. 與某人友好。

She gets free tickets to the theatre because she is friendly with the manager.

她與劇院經(jīng)理關(guān)系好，因此能夠獲得一些免費(fèi)門票。b. be friendly to/towards. 對(duì)…友好。

c. be friendly to a cause. 贊助某一事業(yè)。

d. He’s not friendly to / toward newcomers. 他對(duì)新來(lái)者不夠友好。

4. immune adj 免疫的

a. immune from. 免除

immune from punishment. 免除懲罰。

b. immune to/against disease/poison/ infection/critism/attack.

免受疾?。ㄖ卸?，傳染，批評(píng)，攻擊）。名詞“immunity”與“from”連用。

5. unknown adj 不出名的；未知的

unknown to them. 他們不知道。

6. grateful adj 感激的

be grateful to somebody. 感激的；感謝的。

名詞“gratitude”后面也跟”to”，如：“ gratitude to somebody for something”。

7. kind adj 和靄的

He is very kind to animals. 他愛(ài)護(hù)動(dòng)物。

8. sensitive adj 敏感的

The eyes are sensitive to light. 眼睛對(duì)光敏感。

9. relevant adj 相關(guān)的；有關(guān)的

Supply the facts relevant to the case. 提供與案件有關(guān)的事實(shí)。

名詞“relevance to”。

10. respectful adj 尊敬的

be respectful to. 對(duì)…表示尊敬的/有禮貌的。

11. useful adj 有用的

He may be terribly useful to me in other ways.

他在其他方面可能會(huì)對(duì)我很有幫助。

12. thankful adj 感激的

Li says he is thankful to all the friends who reached out to help him.

李說(shuō)他感激所有伸出援手解救他的朋友。

13. vital adj 重要的

the one thing really vital to them both. 對(duì)他們雙方都很重要的一件事。
