Hi everyone, my name is Shou, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to speak with you today. This is a very special moment for you and your entire family. I still vividly remember sitting in your seat 16 years ago as a graduate of the economics department. I wanted to take a few moments today to share a few things I've learned on my own journey.?

大家好，我是周受資，很榮幸今天有機會和大家進行交談。這對你和你的整個家庭來說都是非常特別的時刻。我仍然清晰地記得16年前坐在你現(xiàn)在的座位上，作為經(jīng)濟系的畢業(yè)生。今天，我想花一些時間來分享一下我的人生旅途中的經(jīng)歷和所學到的一些事情。

Growing up in Singapore, a small island state, I knew that I wanted to see as much of the world as possible. Being at UCL and living in London gave me a diverse and international experience. Like many of you, I made some amazing lifelong friends from around the world during my time at UCL.?

我成長于新加坡這個小島國家，我知道我想盡可能多地看到這個世界。在UCL學習和在倫敦生活讓我獲得了多元化和國際化的體驗。和你們許多人一樣，在UCL的時光里，我結交了來自世界各地的畢生摯友。

After graduation, I didn't really know what I wanted to do or where life would take me. In hindsight, there was no big plan. I worked hard with what I had, I put myself out there, and I took chances when it came.?

畢業(yè)后，我并不真的知道自己想要做什么也不知道生活會帶給去向何方?；叵肫饋?，當時并沒有什么大計劃。我只能很努力的工作，利用我所擁有的一切，展示自己的能力，當機會來時緊緊抓住。

My first job out of college was to join Goldman Sachs, an investment bank in London. There I was introduced to DST, a young investment firm that only just started. I didn't really have any investing experience then, but I kept trying to learn and push myself to leave my comfort zone. I met many internet founders during this journey, including the founding team of ByteDance and TikTok, and many years later I find myself taking my current role at TikTok.?

我大學畢業(yè)后的第一份工作是加入倫敦的投資銀行高盛。在那里，我被介紹到DST，一個剛起步很年輕的投資公司。當時，我當時并沒有任何的投資經(jīng)驗，但我一直在努力學習并迫使自己走出舒適區(qū)。在這個旅程中，我遇到了許多互聯(lián)網(wǎng)創(chuàng)始人，包括字節(jié)跳動和TikTok的創(chuàng)始團隊，多年后我發(fā)現(xiàn)自己在TikTok擔任了現(xiàn)在的角色。

Somewhere in the middle of this journey,I chose to go to business school in the US.I remember struggling with this decision, wondering if this decision would enhance or delay my career.I'm glad that I did choose to go despite my own uncertainties, as it was there that I met my wife.

在這段旅程的中途，我選擇去了美國讀商學院。我記得當時對這個決定很糾結，不確定這個決定是否會促進還是延緩我的職業(yè)生涯。我很高興我做出了這個選擇盡管我還不確定，因為就是在那里，我遇見了我的妻子。

I would have no way to prove if my career would have been better if I had taken another path, but I can confidently say that my life is fuller and more meaningful as a result of my decision.?

我無法證明如果我走了另一條路，我的職業(yè)生涯會更好，但我可以自信地說，我的生活因我的決定變得更充實、更有意義。

The point I'm trying to make is to encourage you to embrace the journey you are going to embark on. Life will take you in many directions, work hard to make the most of what you have. Take chances that will come your way but don't overthink it.?

我想說的是，鼓勵大家擁抱即將開始的旅程。生活會引領你走向很多個方向，要努力發(fā)揮你所擁有的資源，抓住機遇，但不要過度思考。

Sometimes you will have to leave your comfort zone and you will feel uncertain and uncomfortable, that is okay. In my case, those were the times I found myself learning and developing the most. The world is changing quickly, and there are always new situations that you're not going to be familiar with.

有時你不得不離開你的舒適區(qū)，你會感到不確定和不舒服，這沒關系。就我而言，那些時候是我發(fā)現(xiàn)自己學習和提升最多的時候。世界瞬息萬變，總有一些你不熟悉的新情況。

No matter what you encounter, have confidence that the skills and knowledge you've acquired will carry you through, and know that your professors will be cheering you on and your friends and family will be supporting you along the way.

無論遇到什么情況，要有信心你所掌握的技能和知識會幫你度過難關，要知道你的教授會為你們加油，你的朋友和家人會一直支持你。
