斯葉特時代始于卡倫對埃郎之眼的偉大發(fā)現(xiàn)。隨著這一發(fā)現(xiàn)，沉睡已久的超空間門網(wǎng)絡(luò)被重新啟動，這使得超空間跳躍的距離不再受到超空間核心的限制，而更重要的是人們還能夠穿越通往鄰近星系的跳躍門來實現(xiàn)跨越銀河的旅行。在此之前，這被認(rèn)為是無法實現(xiàn)的壯舉。即使在今天，埃郎之眼網(wǎng)絡(luò)的所覆蓋的范圍仍是未知的。

早在銀河標(biāo)準(zhǔn)歷9626年跳躍門開放之時，希格拉人便開始繪制超空間門網(wǎng)絡(luò)的導(dǎo)航星圖，但在戴阿米德的批準(zhǔn)和控制下，星圖的繪制工作受到希格拉海軍的嚴(yán)格管理。

雖然家園星系中有許多其他種族曾向戴阿米德請愿，要求對其他盟國開放對埃郎之眼網(wǎng)絡(luò)的探索權(quán)限。但希格拉人卻以“維護(hù)銀河系安全”等理由拒絕他們的請求。

盡管星系內(nèi)目前還沒有國家能夠挑戰(zhàn)希格拉的霸權(quán)，但可以預(yù)見的是國際局勢會因此變得緊張。

首次通過跳躍門的遠(yuǎn)征行動由希格拉海軍一手操辦，其中規(guī)模最大的一次是9631年前往光輪銀河的拉撒路遠(yuǎn)征隊。

盡管單艦執(zhí)行遠(yuǎn)征任務(wù)的失敗幾率一直居高不下，但希格拉本土仍然與兩處外銀河殖民地保持著聯(lián)絡(luò)。其中一個是位于厄洛斯星系（Eros?galaxy）的研究前哨站，另一個是位于極光星系的文蘭定居點（Vinland?settlement?in?Aurora）。在無基斯者接管了戴阿米德之后與這些哨站的聯(lián)絡(luò)成為了受到保護(hù)的機密事項。

無基斯者控制下的新戴阿米德大幅減少了官方性質(zhì)的超空間門網(wǎng)絡(luò)探索行動，但仍有大量未經(jīng)授權(quán)的遠(yuǎn)征在他們的控制之外進(jìn)行，而希格拉海軍對此則是采取了視而不見的默許態(tài)度。

最后一批被戴阿米德允許穿過大門的官方遠(yuǎn)征艦隊之一——亞拉拉特特遣艦隊（Task Force Ararat），在前往光輪銀河后便與本土失去了聯(lián)系。

The Age of S’jet began when Karan herself located the Eye of Aarran. With this discovery came the unlocking of the hyperspace gates, allowing instantaneous travel across enormous distances without the aid of a hyperspace core. More significantly the gate network allowed travel to neighboring galaxies, a feat deemed impossible until then. The extent of the network, even today, is unknown. The Hiigarans naturally began efforts to map the network even as early as Aarran’s opening in 9626 GSY.Efforts to map the Hyperspace network are tightly controlled by the Hiigaran navy, with approval officially delegated by the Daiamid on Hiigara. Though many other races in the Homeworld Galaxy have petitioned the Daiamid to open up exploration from other allied nations, the Hiigarans have refused, citing claims of maintaining galactic security. This has caused a predictable rise in tensions though the rest of the galaxy is not in a place to challenge the Hiigaran’s supremacy.The first expeditions through the gates were exclusively efforts by the Hiigaran Navy, the largest of which was the Lazarus Expedition to Nimbus in 9631 GSY. Though the failure rate remains high for single-ship expeditions the Hiigarans maintain two extra-galactic colonies still in contact with Hiigara. One of them is a research outpost in the Eros galaxy, while the other is the Vinland settlement in Aurora. After the Kiithless takeover of the Daiamid, contact with these outposts became a classified matter for their protection.The new Daiamid under Kiithless control has sharply curtailed official gate expeditions, though plenty of unauthorized ventures still happen outside of their control while the Hiigaran Navy looks the other way. One of the last official expeditions sanctioned by the Daiamid to pass through the gate, Task Force Ararat, has vanished without a trace after departing for Nimbus.
