VSM: Slightly Invalidated
Hello budding sprouts, it's Cassius again!
Last time, it seems that Sniper had followed up with the middle section of the spectrum and I'll be filling in with the slightly less validated side of the spectrum. I'll be going through the exact same few points as we have said previously, but now in the form of the slightly invalidated perspective. Content/trigger warning on?fakeclaiming,?discussions of trauma?and such, so beware!!
To show this in a diagram, I'll put it here:

Now let's get going with the criteria! (Why do I sound so excited, this is actually concerning.)
Not Being Diagnosed
No diagnosis doesn't really affect other criteria, but other criteria can definitely affect this one. Not having a diagnosis means that the system isn't really validated by professionals, meaning that the system is?practically not welcomed to be called a system unless being officially diagnosed.
May or May Not Have Trauma (Don't Know, Don't Remember)
A lot of the members in syscourse like to do this, such as telling systems who don't necessarily know or think they have trauma that they just "don't remember" the events. It is very concerning that trauma is becoming a benchmark for becoming a system or not, but there is a point for this, as mentioned before with the current Structural Dissociation Model.
System is Fairly Harmonious
No fights, no conflict, everything is fine, meaning that the system doesn't really have to go to a doctor for a check-up or a diagnosis. This seems to be absurd because some people in syscourse view through?their own experiences. If a DID/OSDD system has experienced so many overwhelming events, but then sees that there are other systems who don't think they went through trauma and don't have to go to the doctors for diagnosis and help would make them feel that they're being invalidated. I believe this is one of the main reasons that this is another important criteria for a slightly invalidated system.
No Masking Necessarily (Openly Plural)
As said before, masking is a survival trait that systems have to hide their existence. Being openly plural defies that purpose in every?single?angle. This is why people in system discourse tend to feel discomfort or are upset of this openly plural behaviour. They feel invalidated and disrespected for they had lived their lives in fear of their system being found out.
Not a Lot of Symptoms Match
If a system doesn't have a lot of the symptoms match up with the diagnostic criteria, the syscourse deems this as?"faking" behaviour. A system, in the VS?of syscourse, must have trauma-related symptoms. This is linked to the second criteria, and the connection is simply in plain sight, clear as day. Alters/Parts' origins are pulled to question as well, with some systems having symptoms that don't match and have a lot of system members that do not stem from trauma.
All in all, slightly invalidated means that a system isn't sure if they have trauma or not, said they do not have trauma, and then gets slapped immediately with the label "you just don't remember trauma" and pushed it into the middle ground.
Thank you for reading this far, let's see who will take the wheel of the last part of the VSM next!?
This is Cassius, signing out!
