The Old Lady in Our Class 班里的銀發(fā)同學(xué)

On?the?first?day?of?school?our?teacher?introduced?himself?and?challenged?us?to?get?to?know?someone?we?didn't?already?know.

開學(xué)第一天，老師做了自我介紹，然后鼓勵(lì)我們主動(dòng)去認(rèn)識(shí)新同學(xué)。

I?stood?up?and?looked?around?when?a?gentle?hand?touched?my?shoulder.

一只手輕輕地觸碰我的肩膀時(shí)，我站起來環(huán)顧四周。

I?turned?around?to?find?a?little?old?lady?with?a?warm?smile.?She?said,?"Hi,?handsome.?My?name?is?Rose.?I'm?sixty-seven?years?old."

轉(zhuǎn)身看到一位女士，臉上掛著暖心的微笑，她對(duì)我說：“ 你好，帥哥。我叫羅斯，今年67歲?！?/p>

"Why?are?you?in?university?at?such?a?YOUNG?age?"?I?asked.

我問道：“您這么 ‘年輕’ 怎么還來上大學(xué)呢？”

She?replied,?"I'm?here?to?meet?a?rich?husband,?get?married,?have?a?couple?of?kids,?and?then?retire?and?travel."

她回答：“我想在這里遇到富有的丈夫，跟他結(jié)婚，生兩個(gè)孩子，之后退休旅游?！?/p>

I?knew?she?was?joking.?I?was?curious?what?might?have?encouraged?her?to?be?taking?on?this?challenge?at?her?age.

我知道她在開玩笑，我很好奇是什么原因使她在這個(gè)年紀(jì)接受這項(xiàng)挑戰(zhàn)。

"I?always?dreamed?of?having?a?university?education?and?now?I'm?getting?one!"?she?told?me.

她告訴我：“我一直想上大學(xué)，現(xiàn)在我有了這個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)?！?/p>

We?became?friends.?Every?day?we?would?talk?nonstop?after?class.

我們成為了朋友，每天上完課后，聊個(gè)不停。

I?always?enjoyed?listening?to?this?"time?machine"?as?she?shared?her?wisdom?and?experience?with?me.?And?Rose?easily?made?friends?wherever?she?went.

我總是很喜歡聽 “時(shí)光機(jī)“ 分享她的智慧和經(jīng)歷。羅斯無論在哪都能輕松交到朋友。

At?the?end?of?the?term?we?invited?Rose?to?make?a?little?speech.

期末的時(shí)候，班級(jí)邀請(qǐng)羅斯做了一場(chǎng)小演講。

She?cleared?her?throat?and?began,

她清了清嗓子，就開始了：

"We?do?not?stop?playing?because?we?are?old;?we?grow?old?because?we?stop?playing.?I've?learned?a?few?secrets?to?staying?young,?being?happy,?and?achieving?success.

”我們不會(huì)因?yàn)槟昀暇屯Ｖ雇鏄?，但我們?huì)因?yàn)橥Ｖ雇鏄范兝?。我學(xué)會(huì)了一些保持年輕、幸福和成功的秘訣。

You?have?to?laugh?and?find?humor?every?day.?You've?got?to?have?a?dream.?When?you?lose?your?dreams,?you?die."

你要每天開懷大笑，找些樂子。你要有夢(mèng)想，一旦你沒了夢(mèng)想，心靈就會(huì)死去。

There?is?a?huge?difference?between?growing?older?and?growing?up.?Anybody?can?grow?older.?That?doesn't?take?any?talent?or?ability.

變老與長(zhǎng)大有很大的差別。每個(gè)人都會(huì)變老，變老不需要任何天賦和能力。

The?idea?is?to?grow?up?by?always?finding?the?opportunity?in?change."

真正重要的是，要想長(zhǎng)大，就要一直尋求進(jìn)步的機(jī)會(huì)。
