1. 有名詞和動(dòng)詞兩種詞性，名詞比較常見，但是動(dòng)詞的意思也比較重要。

2. 名詞含義：競(jìng)賽、人種/民族/種族、種類；

3. 名詞搭配一：a race between A and B A與B之間的比賽；

4. 名詞搭配二：the race for something/to do something競(jìng)爭(zhēng)某物/爭(zhēng)相做某事，The race is on to do something人們開始競(jìng)相做某事；

2. 形容詞搭配：regional government/security地區(qū)政府/安全。

3. 名詞形式：region，表示地區(qū)、（首都以外的）省、（身體）部位；

4. 名詞搭配一：autonomous region自治區(qū)；

5. 名詞搭配二：a remote mountain region邊遠(yuǎn)山區(qū)；

6. 名詞搭配三：the pelvic region盆骨區(qū)。

7. 書中短語(yǔ)：from regional to global history從地區(qū)歷史到全球歷史。

splendour/splendor——

1. 兩種寫法，一個(gè)意思，名詞，表示，雄偉壯麗；

2. 名詞搭配一：（somebody do?something）in the splendour of a place/a building伴隨著某地/某建筑內(nèi)的華麗（開展某事）；

3. 名詞搭配二：the splendours壯麗景色、恢弘氣勢(shì)。

4. 形容詞形式：splendid，表示極好的、壯美的；

5. 形容詞搭配一：get a splendid view somewhere某地景色怡人；

6. 形容詞搭配二：stand in splendid isolation巋然獨(dú)立；

7. 形同詞搭配三：splendid scenery美景。
