2022武漢雙年展以“藝以通衢”為主題，策劃“文化樣態(tài)”“城市形態(tài)”“創(chuàng)新動(dòng)態(tài)”“綠色生態(tài)”“開放姿態(tài)”五個(gè)專題，深度探討世界、人類、自然、科技、文化等多態(tài)合一、多態(tài)共生的關(guān)系命題，其中，“開放姿態(tài)”專題在合美術(shù)館展出，展現(xiàn)多元、多樣的藝術(shù)融合，帶來(lái)不同空間、面向未來(lái)的藝術(shù)生態(tài)。

2022武漢雙年展于12月28日正式拉開帷幕。以“藝以通衢”為主題的大型群展將在武漢美術(shù)館（琴臺(tái)館）、武漢美術(shù)館（漢口館）、合美術(shù)館三館同時(shí)開展。其中“開放姿態(tài)”專題邀請(qǐng)了58位藝術(shù)家，展出80余組作品，結(jié)合國(guó)際知名畫廊資源，充分展現(xiàn)來(lái)自世界不同文化背景的藝術(shù)家作品，體現(xiàn)出藝術(shù)家對(duì)于世界不同的觀看和理解方式聚焦未來(lái)視野探索藝術(shù)表達(dá)和交流的各種可能性。

NEBULA/Two birds in a Tree

Over 15 years ago I started to work on a series related to physics and on a very basic level the geometric similarity of neutron star and a biological cell (cells/stars macro/micro). ?I was thinking about this connection that this relationship was a way of understanding the universe and a way to understand our body, our lives, our existent. I am sure that I am not the first artist, philosopher or scientist to gaze into the universe and ponder such big questions and surely will not be the last.

Nevertheless, at that time I decided to use this as a starting point and I mixed the shape of Buckminsterfullerene (commonly called a Bucky Ball after the architect Buckminster Fuller) as it is the most common naturally occurring fullerene with the shape of common retroviruses. From that initial point of trying to mix these elements together my work has evolved to my latest installation “NEBULA/two birds in a tree”. As was the case with my earlier works related to this thinking, I continue in this new piece to mix a Buckminsterfullerene with the structure of retroviruses. I used 3d printed objects connected together to create a physical form resulting in the similar appearance to a Nebula gaseous cluster and that of an organic tree with branches and leaves. This geometric/organic structure was connected to a large digital wall drawing of two birds joined together to form the shape of a Ying and Yang symbol, positive and negative.

For the first time the final result was to use a digital wall drawing as well as 3d printing to materialize digital codes to produce a ?(Post Digital) mutated sculptural objects.

星云/樹上的兩只鳥

15 多年前，我開始創(chuàng)作一系列與物理學(xué)、以及中子星與生物細(xì)胞（細(xì)胞/恒星，宏觀/微觀）本原上的幾何相似性有關(guān)的作品。我一直在想，這種關(guān)聯(lián)或者說(shuō)這種關(guān)系是一種理解宇宙的方式，也是一種理解我們的身體、我們的生活、我們的存在的方式。我肯定不是第一個(gè)凝視宇宙并思考如此重大問(wèn)題的藝術(shù)家、哲學(xué)家或科學(xué)家，也絕對(duì)不會(huì)是最后一個(gè)。

不管怎樣，當(dāng)時(shí)的我決定以此為起點(diǎn)，并將之與巴克敏斯特富勒烯的形狀（該形狀通常以建筑師巴克敏斯特富勒的名字命名為巴基球）相結(jié)合，因?yàn)樗亲畛Ｒ姷奶烊桓焕障揖哂谐Ｒ姷哪孓D(zhuǎn)錄病毒的形狀。從試著將這些元素混合在一起的初步嘗試起，該作品系列即持續(xù)進(jìn)化至這件最新的裝置作品 NEBULA /two birds in a tree。沿襲我前序作品的創(chuàng)作思路，我將巴基球與逆轉(zhuǎn)錄病毒的結(jié)構(gòu)混合在一起，用連接在一起的3D打印物來(lái)構(gòu)建一個(gè)物理形態(tài)，使其呈現(xiàn)與星云氣態(tài)簇以及樹枝樹葉的有機(jī)形態(tài)相似的外觀，這個(gè)幾何的有機(jī)結(jié)構(gòu)又與背后首尾相連的兩只鳥的數(shù)字圖像組合在一起，共同構(gòu)成陰與陽(yáng)的正負(fù)形符號(hào)。

在這件成品中，我首次把數(shù)字壁畫與將數(shù)字代碼物質(zhì)化的3D 打印混合使用來(lái)制作這件“變異的”雕塑物（我稱之為后數(shù)字式創(chuàng)作）。
