On August 21 of 2023, a delegation from training course on tropical fruit production and processing techniques for developing countries, consisting of 45 officials and scientific and technological personnel from Pakistan, Cuba, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and other developing countries, visited one of Evergreen’s subsidiaries - South Marine Aquaculture Seed Base of State 863 Program (Base 863 for short)for an in-depth view of the development of marine aquaculture and seedling breeding in Southern China.?


? ? ? ? The delegation visited the broodstock workshop, Evergreen showroom and outdoor ponds. Evergreen vice president Mr. Wang Jianhong introduced Evergreen to the delegation in details, including the company scale, equipment, technology, products, services and so on.?


? ? ? ? Base 863 is the biggest broodstock breeding base for vannamei shrimp in China by now. Approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2002, Evergreen invested in Donghai Island of Zhanjiang City to build this base, which is an integrated R&D platform of seedling, aquatic feed, aquaculture, and animal health. After 10 years of research, the first new variety of vannamei shrimp Zhongxing No.1 certified by China was successfully bred in this base. In addition,? ?remarkable achievements in broodstock selection and breeding for giant tiger prawn, giant freshwater prawn, Australia freshwater crayfish, grouper, golden pompano, sea bass, cobia, channel catfish, tilapia, basa, and snakehead have been obtained in the base.
