【閱讀報(bào)告】Rock Paper Scissors - Alice Feeney
The thirty-fourth book that I’ve finished reading this year is Alice Feeney’s “Rock Paper Scissors”. Thanks to a nice friend?for lending it to me. Amelia and Adam arrive at Blackwater chapel in the Scottish highlands on a weekend trip to save their marriage. Who invited them there, and how will they react when they find out the truth?
It has been long since I’ve read a thriller as page-turning as this book. Although its theme about saving a broken marriage is not quite relatable to someone like myself, the carefully designed narrative and the suspense throughout are simply alluring. Secrets revealed 3/4 into the book are subversive and beckons the reader to re-evaluate what he/she has read before. Though perhaps lacking in depth and becoming a bit cliché towards the end, overall this book as been a pleasurable read. I’d highly recommend this book for those who are looking for a carefree and enjoyable break from reality.
