上周我分享了10句有錯誤的英文句子。這些錯誤在最近的雅思寫作中都很常見。沒看過上次文章的話沒關系，你可以現(xiàn)在看那10句話，然后盡量找出有錯誤的地方。

接下來，我今天要告訴大家，這些句子的錯誤在哪里，為什么都是錯誤表達，以及分享正確的寫法。

She is a high school student and she majors in science. (她是高中生，學理科的。)

這句話的錯誤部分就是'she majors in'。'to major in sth'的確是正確的英文，但是只有大學生會用。在一些國家，包括中國和英國，高中生選幾個屬于同一個領域的課。在中國通常就是理科或文科。很多國內(nèi)的高中生以為正確地表達‘我學理科’或‘我學文科’的方式就是：I major in science/humanities。實際上，如果需要特別強調(diào)自己是理科還是文科學生的話，應該大概這樣表達。'I'm a high-school student. Most/All of my subjects are related to science/humanities.‘

I back home immediately after work. (我一旦下班就回家。)

'back'不可以做動詞?；丶揖褪恰痶o go back home'(回去)或'to come back home'（回來）。因此，正確的表達是: 'I go back home immediately after work.

I usually read until 12 or 12:30 and then I take a nap at noon. (我通?？磿街钡?2點或12點半然后在中午睡午覺。)

這句的錯誤地方是'at noon'。很多學生被中英詞典誤導了。在很多詞典里，中午的翻譯之一就是'noon'。因此大部分學生以為常聽到的表達'at noon‘是指’在中午‘。其實'at noon'是指’12點整‘。12:30絕對不是'at noon'。’中午‘最好的翻譯就是’around noon'。'Around noon'的意思是11:00到13:00的那個時段。正確的表達以上句子意思的方法是: I usually read until around noon and then I take a nap. / I usually read until 12:00 or 12:30 and then I take a nap.

Apparently, if you run into the sea you will get wet. (很明顯，如果你跑進海里你會被淋濕的。)

在這句句子里，'apparently'那個詞不正確。正確的單詞是'obviously‘。很多學生以為那兩個是同義詞，但并不是?！疧bviously‘是指’很明顯‘。'Apparently'的意思更像’好像是‘或’我好像聽說過‘或’我不確定，不過我認為‘。'Apparently'跟'obviously'不一樣，它包含一定的不確定性。所以這句句子應該是這樣表達：Obviously, if you run into the sea you will get wet.

I'm not very outgoing so I just have several friends. (我不是很外向，因此我只有幾個朋友。)

'just'和'several'不配。有的學生以為'several'是指幾個，其他學生因為聽起來像seven，以為意思是大概七個。兩個想法都不對?！甋everal'的定義是3個以上，但是它的用處很像中文的‘好幾個’。我們只用’several'表達自己要談論的那個數(shù)量不少，或者夠多，或者比以前估計的多那樣的意思。由于這個原因，它和'just'或‘only'就不匹配。以上句子的正確表達是：'I'm not very outgoing so I just have a few friends.'

這里再提供幾個正確的用'several’的例句：

I thought he was poor but actually he owns several houses. (我以為他很窮，但實際上他擁有好幾棟房子。)

We were afraid nobody would come to the party but several people came.

(我們擔心沒有人會來參加聚會，但不少人來了。)

It's going to take us several months to solve this problem.

(我們要花好幾個月的時間來解決這個問題。)

My favorite actress is FanBingBing, I got to know her from a movie I watched five years ago. （我最喜歡的演員是范冰冰，我從我5年前看過的電影了解到她。）

就像to know someone和to know of someone有不同的意思一樣。to get to know someone和to get to know of someone也有重要區(qū)別。在用to know someone（認識某人）或to get to know someone (了解到某人)的時候，我們談論的是自己在生活中認識過的一個人。用to know of someone(聽說過某人/知道一個人)的時候，我們談論的是我們實際并沒見過面的人。to get to know of也很像。我們在解釋如何聽說過某人或某東西的時候會用'to get to know of'。例如說'I got to know of that beach from my friend'.(我從我的朋友那里知道了那個海灘)。再例如'I got to know of that singer from a video I saw.'(我是從看過的視頻知道這個歌手的)。所以呢，原本錯誤的句子應該是這樣表達:My favorite actress is FanBingBing, I got to know of her from a movie I watched five years ago.

I spend three hours finishing my homework every evening.

中文的‘完成’最準確的英文翻譯是'to finish'或'to complete'。但是取決于想用的詞語搭配是什么，中文的‘完成’也許不能被翻譯成'to finish'或'to complete'。在表達‘完成工作’，‘完成任務’，’完成作業(yè)‘，’完成家務‘等意思的時候，用的動詞應該是'to do'。'to do work/tasks/homework/housework 和 to finish work/tasks/homework/housework是兩個不同的概念。to finish/to complete是指把已經(jīng)幾乎完成的工作做完。比如說，如果完成某個任務需要花費10個小時的時間，那么在那整整10個小時里你都在'doing that task'，在最后一個小時才可以說你在'finishing/completing the task’。

以上句子的正確表達就是: I spend three hours doing my homework every evening.

I spend a lot of time searching information related to my thesis.

這句有問題的部分就是searching information。找東西在英語是'to search for something‘。英文也有'to search something'那個表達，但是那是指在某一個地方尋找。在英文這句話'我在找手機，我已經(jīng)在廚房里和在書包里尋找過?！沁@樣表達: I'm searching for my mobile phone, I've already searched (in) the kitchen and my schoolbag. 所以，原本的句子應該是這樣寫：

I spend a lot of time searching for information related to my thesis.

Many people like to go hiking to release the pressure. (很多人喜歡去遠足為了釋放壓力。)

to release pressure也是個正確的英文詞語搭配，但是我們不怎么在談論人類的心情時會這么用。通常是在機械工程之類的領域里使用的。例如: open the valve to release the pressure (打開閥門以釋放壓力)。談論人的心理狀態(tài)時，如果想表達’釋放壓力‘這個意思的話，有兩個主要的說法。第一個是'to destress'，第二個是'to relax'。所以，第九個有錯誤的句子應該是這樣寫：Many people like to go hiking to destress/relax.

It is significant to keep in contact with old friends.（跟老朋友保持聯(lián)系很重要。）

significant和important的基本意思差不多一樣，但是用處很不一樣。important那個詞很靈活，在幾乎所有在中文表達‘重要’的地方，在英文里都可以用important。但significant只是在一些情況，特別是和一些特定的詞語搭配時才可以用。如果隨便地用'significant'來表達'重要‘的意思的話，會產(chǎn)生好多錯誤。這里就是significant通常出現(xiàn)的詞語搭配，a significant event, a significant change, a significant increase, a significant decrease, a significant contribution, a significant amount, a significant number of, a significant challenge, a significant factor, a significant improvement, a significant majority。英語學生應該學會這些詞語搭配，但是每次想表達’重要‘的意思時，如果不知道可不可以用significant，就應該總是用important。不要冒險，特別在你做雅思考試的時候。

所以第十句句子正確的表述應該是這樣: It is important to keep in contact with old friends.
