BCG is a type of immunotherapy generally used to treat patients with bladder cancer. BCG is a weak bacterial strain of the bacteria that generally cause tuberculosis. It is infused into the bladder by means of a catheter and causes the body to act against cancer cells of the bladder. It is generally not used to kill any other type of cancer cell, but is being investigated in that regard.
