Grab your swimmers, togs, cossie or whatever you call them, because today marks the first day of summer! And when the weather does start to heat up, we couldn’t think of a more peaceful place to go for a dip than here in Cronulla - one of Sydney’s most popular beachside locations. But those looking to escape the heat don’t solely enjoy the surf and sand - they also relish the abundance of rock pools on offer throughout the suburb.
Built throughout the early 1900s, the more natural pools were built to help protect swimmers not just from rough currents and swells, but marine life as well. Nowadays these beautiful baths are one of many popular swimming spots for Cronulla locals, some using it as a lap pool while others prefer to take in the scenery with a relaxing paddle. We’re just happy to enjoy a little bit more sunshine.
