Q: What's your thoughts on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)?

?You're building on knowledge that was acquired over thousands of years（我們所學(xué)的知識(shí)建立在數(shù)千年來(lái)所獲得的知識(shí)的基礎(chǔ)之上）. And a lot of times if you think about the clinical reasoning （臨床推理）of some of these patients, it's really not that much different back then than it is now. But even when it comes to knowing the science, there is a level of how we interpret the world today versus how we're going to interpret the world 500 years from now. And the thing is that if we look at ancient knowledge, you don't typically wanna throw that away. It may not be 100% correct, but there still might be something in there that we're just not aware of right now with today's scientific methods（仍有尚未發(fā)現(xiàn)的精華之處）.So because you have that knowledge from thousands of years in the past, I wouldn't throw that away, I wouldn't disregard it. Maybe it doesn't fit with how we see the world today, and that's fine. But keep it in the back of your mind. You don't want to erase that knowledge, because it could come in handy some time later down the line. （抹掉知識(shí)只會(huì)變成“書(shū)到用時(shí)方恨少”）

?And what I mean by this is that this is old knowledge that was acquired from, you know, a hundred and fifty years ago. And so it has applications today, because the people who rediscovered immunotherapy(免疫療法) back in the 90s and in the 2000s, well they just won the Nobel prize a couple of years ago. （以前的知識(shí)也是會(huì)有用處的）

I would say, do not throw that knowledge away, because eventually someone's gonna have to rediscover it if you throw it away some time in the future, rather than if you just had that ancient knowledge still with you somewhere. ?Just because we think of it in our minds a certain way, well, when nature tends to disagree with that. So again careful, because this is ancient knowledge that was built on from thousands of years in the past. People back 1000 years ago weren't dumb. They just didn't know some of the things that we know now. （古人的智慧不可忽視）And in another 1000 years, they're gonna konw things that we don't know now, and we would hope that in 1000 years, they don't think that we're dumb, because we know about as much as we can know, given what we've built upon over the last couple thousand years that we've had.
