NASA has observed the Earth getting warmer and sea lever getting higher. What's the connection? Just like mercury in the thermometer, water expands when heated. And earth oceans absorb more that 90% of the heat global warming. That's a lot. Warm temperature also cause a lot the ice to melt and eventually enter the ocean. A child born today can expect the ocean to rise 1–4 feet lifetime. In the United States alone, nearly 5 million people live within 4 feet of the local high tide level. That could meaning increased flooding from storm surges. And the ocean rises, its saltwater mixes with our rivers and groundwater. which is many people get fresh water there for drinking and farming. So there is no question that sea levels are rising. So there is no question that sea levels are rising. NASA can measure it from space. But what we can do it? Some communities are taking steps to adapt. And others are working to address the cause global warming. It's a big challenge, but hey, we better be up for it. Because right now, good Earth is the only planet we get.
