接下來是一段對話。Madeline和一個烤火的人。
烤火的人：
Ho there, fellow traveller! 好呀，一起旅行的人。
fellow是同伴的意思。

Madeline:
Oh...hi... 哦，你好。

烤火的人：
What a killer night for a hike! 對于徒步旅行來說，這是一個多么美妙的夜晚！
killer除了殺手，殺人者，還有令人激動的事物，導(dǎo)致死亡的事物，棘手的事物的意思。

Madeline:
I guess so. 我想是這樣的。

烤火的人：
This place is so crazy. 這個地方太讓人瘋狂了。

I kind of can’t believe it exists! 我有些不敢相信它存在！

Madeline:
Not the easiest climb, is it? 不是最簡單的攀登，對吧？

But I guess that’s what I was looking for... 但是我想，那正是我在尋找的...

烤火的人：
Whoa, that sounds pretty serious. 哇，那聽起來很嚴(yán)肅。
I’m just happy to see another human in such a lonely place. 我只是很高興在這么一個孤獨(dú)的地方能見到另一個人。
I’m Theo by the way, an adventurer from a far off land!
順便說一下，我是Theo，來自一片遙遠(yuǎn)大地的一名冒險家。
玩家終于知道了這個烤火的人叫Theo。

Theo:
Not much of a talker, are you? 你不太愛說話，是嗎？
Mysterious lone wolf type, I get it. I’ll just imagine some dark backstory for you.
神秘的獨(dú)狼類型，我知道了。我會為你想象一些黑暗的背景故事。

Madeline:
Hey, sorry. I’m Madeline. 嘿，抱歉。我是Madeline。
I’ve got a lot on my mind. 我腦子有很多東西。

Theo:
Well, Madeline, I’d say you’ve come to the right place!
好啊，Madeline，我會說你來到了正確的地方！
I’m freezing my toes off, but I can’t imagine a better place to be for some quiet reflection. 我的腳趾頭正在凍掉，但是我無法想到一個更好的進(jìn)行一些安靜的沉思的地方。
這句話的意思是，Theo快凍死了，只能繼續(xù)在這里烤火，而Madeline也不適合離開這里。

Madeline:
Yeah, maybe you’re right. 唉，也許你是對的。
What “far off land”?do you hail from? 你從哪一個遙遠(yuǎn)的大地像冰雹一樣來？
hail動詞下冰雹，名詞冰雹，像冰雹一樣的事物。

Theo:
Well, my inquisitive compatriot, I doth hail from the mysterical, exotic kingdom of... Seattle.
哇，我好奇的同胞，我像冰雹一樣來自于神秘的，異國風(fēng)情的王國...西雅圖。
inquisitive 好期待，愛鉆研的。
compatriot 同胞。
doth是do的第三人稱單數(shù)形式，過時用法。
exotic異國的，外來的。
這里Theo有心戲耍Madeline，已經(jīng)說了compatriot同胞，還要說exotic異國的，最后答案揭曉，Seattle西雅圖。

Madeline:
It sounds like a special place. 它聽起來像是一個特別的地方。

Theo:
This place is wild. Why would an entire city be abandoned?這里很荒涼。為什么一整座城市被遺棄？

Madeline:
I read that some mega-corporation started building it, but then no one wanted to live here.
我聽說一些特大公司開始建造它，但是沒有人想要住在這里。
I wonder why... 我奇怪為什么...

Theo:
My money’s on a government cover-up. 我的錢被政府掩蓋了。
Theo是不是想說納稅人的錢被浪費(fèi)了。

Madeline:
What a waste, to build all of this for no reason... 多浪費(fèi)啊，毫無緣由地建造這一切...

Theo:
At least we get to enjoy the leftovers. 至少我們可以享受殘留的斷壁殘垣。

Madeline和Theo的對話還未完結(jié)，看得出，雖然前面Madeline和Old Ma’am聊的很不開心，但是Madeline和Theo聊的很開心，旅途中可能開始遇到的是讓我們不開心的人，但總會遇到讓自己開心的人和事。

Madeline:
Are you here to explore this city? 你是來種類探索這座城市的嗎？

Theo:
Yeah, I have a thing for abandoned places. 是的，我對遺棄的地方很著迷。
have a thing for對...有點(diǎn)意思

And I like to think of myself as a budding photographer.
而且我喜歡把我自己想成一位暫露頭角的攝影師。
bud是名詞的芽，也是動詞的發(fā)芽。

Madeline:
Oh really? Cool! 哦，是嗎？酷！

Do you have a blog or something? 你有博客什么的嗎？

Theo:

Madeline:
Nope. I’m heading for the summit. 不，我要向封頂行進(jìn)！

Theo:
I can really see the determination in your eyes! 我真的能從你的眼中看到?jīng)Q心。

It’s inspiring. 振奮人心！

Madeline:
If you say so. I bet you could make it to the summit too. 既然你這么說，我賭你也一定能到達(dá)山頂。

Theo:
Maybe. I don’t really care about reaching the top, TBH.
也許吧。我并不是很關(guān)心到達(dá)山頂，老實說。
TBH是To Be Honest的簡寫。

Oh! But I heard there are some legit old ruins up beyond the city.哦，但是我聽說城市上有一些合法的古老廢墟。

Like 1800’s legit. 就像是19世紀(jì)的遺跡。

I know it’s risky but I have to see them for myself. 我知道很冒險，但我必須親眼看到它們。

YOLO是You only live once的簡寫，鼓勵人們及時行樂，享受生活。
圖11是chapter 1的B-Side Unlocked。B面解鎖。

在給Madeline的第一封信中，提到過pause menu。圖12就是pause menu。PAUSED中止，注意中止不是終止。Resume恢復(fù)繼續(xù)。Retry重試。Options選項。Save and Quit保存并退出。Restart Chapter重新開始章節(jié)。Return to Map返回地圖。

如果選擇Return to Map的話，會出現(xiàn)GIVE UP?放棄？Return to Map返回地圖。Cancel取消。

這座紀(jì)念碑獻(xiàn)給那些在攀登中遇難的人

Ugh, I’m exhausted.啊，我精疲力盡。
在尋找自我的過程中，攀登山頂?shù)倪^程中，人會筋疲力盡，所以，要保存好體力，要有耐力，最后，要有恢復(fù)力，從筋疲力盡中恢復(fù)。

Madeline筋疲力盡，學(xué)著Theo生火。前面的鳥又出現(xiàn)了，朝Madeline叫，Madeline說出了預(yù)告片中的那句This might have been a mistake.這也許是一個錯誤。

Chapter 1的A-side過關(guān)時，會提示Chapter Complete章節(jié)結(jié)束。但可以選擇玩B-side。
