According to Sramana(Jaina) scxtures,
A person possess a healthy and an attractive body and has a long lifespan on account of -
Naam(Body determining) karma
Vedaniya(Feeling producing) karma
Ayu(Lifespan determining) karma
So, it makes no sense to say that Non-vegetarians are healthier than Vegetarians. The same can be proved in many ways.
One can find many daily life examples where there are many Non-vegetarians who suffer from many serious health issues. The same is applicable to vegetarians as well. Everything is the interplay of your own karmas.
Having said that, it makes no sense to kill a 5 sensory living being for food.
Moreover there are considerable health and spiritual benefits from a Vegetarian diet(excluding eggs).
There are many people who think that vegetarian food does not provide sufficient protein. However, one can get sufficient protien from legumes, beans, daal, tofu, paneer, milk, sprouts etc that is required by human body.
As far as body building is concerned, though the protien sources from the vegetarian diet are lesser as compared to Non-vegetarian sources, one gets benefit of peaceful living as vegetarian food is considered as Sattvik. Also vegetarian food is mandatory for spiritual development.
Also, Vegetarian food is cheaper than Non-vegetarian food, thus it has higher ROI(Return on investment) than Non-veg food.

It's clear that, at least in theory, being vegetarian can't be better than being non-vegetarian, because your choices as a vegetarian are a subset of your choices as a non-vegetarian.
In practice, depending on your eating habits and willpower, being vegetarian might be a useful heuristic to avoid certain unhealthy non-vegetarian foods while increasing consumption of healthy vegetarian foods. (It could also backfire, by increasing consumption of unhealthy vegetarian foods in lieu of healthy non-vegetarian foods, especially if going out to eat at a restaurant with limited options.)
很明顯,至少在理論上,吃素不可能比吃葷好,因為你作為一個素食者的選擇只能是你作為一個非素食者的選擇里的一個子集。

Animal based proteins have better amino acid count than plant based proteins. (+1 meat diets)
Low carb diets (meat diets) are excellent for fat loss and muscle gain when compared to high carb diets (+1 meat diets)
Vegetarian diets have better fiber which animal based diets generally lack without supplementation (+1 veg diets)
There are no essential carbs, body can work without carbs by using fat and proteins, but there are essential fats and proteins (+1 meat diets)
Complex carbs don't cause insulin spikes and don't cause obesity; but neither does a low carb diet (+0 draw)
The wide variety of fruits and vegetables provide the most anti-oxidants, animal based diets lack this (+1 veg diets)
High GI carbs commonly found in sweets,rice,pizzas and breads cause insulin spikes which puts on body fat (+1 meat diets) (+0 if you only eat complex carbs)
So although meat diets score more than veg diets overall. the best approach would be a "Balanced diet" containing a good portion of meats and diary, supplemented by good fiber from salads and anti-oxidants from colored vegetables and fruits.

If done right, a vegetarian or vegan diet provides high quantities of micronutrients that only comes from plants.
Plants provide enough bioavailable protein without affecting the kidneys. Also plants provide lots of fiber, which helps to clean the bowels and arteries.
If sticking with as much organic produce as you can, you won't have to worry about the effects of genetically modified foods that may or may not harm humans.

Non vegetarian food has the best absorable protein contend and it is necessary for under nourished. There is no meaning in opening a debate and we have to accept the fact both foods are necessary to be taken by people to balance.
