一、小聲說：whisper，murmur

• lf you were here, l would whisper in your ear, telling you how much I love you.
• 如果你在這，我會在你的耳邊輕言細語,告訴你我是多么的愛你。
• l pat him on the back and sing for him in a whisper.
• 我拍他的背部然后低聲唱歌給他。
• The old man drooped his head and began to murmur to himself my father's name. Suddenly he looked up.

二、正常說：utter，explain，respond

• She cried the news all over the neighborhood.

• l was very angry. I opened my window and shouted at the other driver.
• 我超生氣，我打開窗戶沖著另一個司機大喊。
• "I hate you all!" she howled/ howled the princess.

直接引語的標點符號怎么用？

1. 引語內(nèi)容用單引號/雙引號包裹起來，首字母大寫

• 'He's very clever，you know."

2. 不同的講話者另起一行，且引語結(jié)尾加標點符號，例如逗號，句號，問號，感嘆號。但都在引號之內(nèi)

• "Will you marry me?" he askd.
• "Yes, I will." she cried.

3. 如果講話者出現(xiàn)在引語之前，需用逗號隔開

• Steve replied, 'No problem.'

4. 如果引語中斷（即未講完，不用句號)，講話者結(jié)尾可加逗號或句號繼續(xù)

• “You're right,” he said. “It feels strange.”
• ‘I'm wondering,' she said, “if he could win.”

一、偷偷看：catch a glimpse / glance of sth./sb.

• We all gather in front of the television, praying to catch a glance / glimpse of his face.
• 我們都聚在電視機前，祈禱著能夠看到他的臉，哪怕是驚鴻一瞥。

二、正常看：notice，spot

• Seeing no other people notice us, l placed theChristmas present down and pounded his doorbell.

• She had spotted a man pacing down the hall.
• 她之前看到一個男的在走廊里踱步。

三、盯著看：gaze, stare

• Singing happily, she gazed at her surroundings with large, innocent eyes.
• 歡快地唱著歌，她又大又無辜的眼睛盯著四周。
• The woman was staring eagerly at the girl, trying to make a conversation.
• 這位女士正迫切地盯著那女孩，想要和她聊聊天。

一、remind sb of sth

• These events constantly remind me of my father's absence.
• 這些事情不斷地讓我想起我父親的缺席。

二、picture：v. 勾勒畫面

• l immediately picture / imagine him walking through the door, wearing a shining smile.
• 我立馬腦中浮現(xiàn)出他穿過門走來，臉上洋溢著燦爛的笑

三、From that one experience sb. learned that ......：從那次經(jīng)歷中，某人學(xué)到了..

• From that one experience l learned that the most important thing in life isn't the money you make.
• 從那一次的經(jīng)歷當(dāng)中，我學(xué)到了人生中最重要的東西不是金錢。
