Intro

Hello, everyone, how's going? Hope you're having a great one. My day's been dogshit. So, I just hope that least one of us get to enjoy their days, okay. This morning, I literally rolled off the wrong side of my bed. I was making some drip coffee for myself, one of the ears broke. So, I got crumbs and debris all over the bottom of my mug. And i try to cook some noodles for lunch, didn't measure it properly so now accidentally i have some noodles for dinner too. Put on my favorite bunny head earrings and everyone i showed it to just asked me "yo, Zoe, you got new headphones.". I was like fine .And now I'm trying to film a video and the weather outside just get hella gloomy. So everything's just perfect, man. I have this interrogation light shining on my face right now. That's why i look like a ghost and the backdrop look like a haunted house. I'm very sorry if that bothers you. If you are one of my Og Cyber friends, we've come to a silent consensus that whenever this painting surfaces, we have a sponsor. But we don't talk about it right now. We only talk about it later.

TED talks

Let's talk about it.

It's the video form of an appetizer at an Italian restaurant. Everyone pretends to like it just to elevate their taste. I'm competing with the drill right now.?

But deep down, you know the quality of their speech is top notch. I mean, elites from so many different industries competed their asses off just to qualify to stand on that stage for ten minutes, but still like a lot of them are boring, sue me. For how many times i clicked into a Ted talk and watched for ten minutes and the point the speaker landed on was the only reason why I survived that accident was because i had so much love for God and my children. And it was like man~. And the only thing I'm gonna do to you right now is bye.

So, I went through many ted talks, just to hand pick some of the interesting or at least educational ones, so that you don't have to waste 20 minutes of your lives just to realize that, oh, someone loves their kids.?

?

? The first one?is called How to spot a liar by Pamela Meyer.?

(That thymes)

Unlike the superficial and performative tricks to show you on TV. "Oh, she twitched her eyebrow. He's fidgeting. They must be lying. " No.

She tries to tell you how to dissect the scheme from more of a Macro perspective, using critical thinking and using your logics, etcetera.?

Also, something she said in her speech moved me quite a bit. It says that when you combine the science of recognizing deception with the art of looking and listening, you exempt yourself from collaborating in a lie. That to me was just a super fascinating point, becoming street smart, becoming witty is never about showing off, is never about bragging, is more about protection, is more about preventing yourself from becoming a part of the filthy world.?

(I'm becoming hella fake deep, very sorry. This is what happens when you are 45.)

?

? The second one I want to recommend is called The power of introverts by Susan Cain.?

So as an extrovert myself, I've always hated how the society tells to introvert people to speak up, while not telling the extroverts to shut up and whenever I communicate or talk with an introverted person, I'm always afraid that i might offend them or make them uncomfortable. So, it's just an interesting speech for me to, you know, learn more about the introverted minds.?

If I do have any introverted Cyber friends, please go watch it and tell me if what she said it was real.?

?

? The third one I want to recommend is called the art of asking by Amanda Palmer.?

?She is, I believe the main vocalist of the street band after their music was considered a failure by their label for selling 25000 copies. She decided to break up with the label and she set up a website to crowdsource and just ask money directly from her audience. And she ended up raising over a million dollars from around 25000 people. So, in her mind, that was not begging, but more of an exchange of monetary value as well as emotional values. What's amusing about her stage. She just perfectly predicted the influencer economy, didn't she? This speech happened around 10 years ago, and she just perfectly predicted that she's a prophet. She's a great speech giver. Very touching, almost brought me to tears. So just go watch it and tell me how you feel about it.?

?
04:17
?

? The fourth one I want to recommend is called The difference between healthy and unhealthy love by Katie hood.?

So, in her speech, she basically lists red flags in a relationship. I never thought I would recommend something that's considered fundamental instinct.?

I thought we always know when and why to run away from a relationship when we're getting bullied.?

However, after some recent encounters, I do realize that a lot of my friends do not realize that they are getting emotionally abused, and they don't know when is the perfect time to exit from a relationship.?So, if you feel like you're bothered by the same problem, I do suggest you watch it, my friend, and yeah, do not get harm. Prioritize your feelings first.??

?

? The fifth one, just want to talk about the most famous Ted talk Inside the mind of a master procrastinator by Tim urban .?

He included lots of, you know, psychological analysis and theories. However, his mannerism and techniques were fully entertaining. So, there was not one second that I was not engaged to whatever he was saying. As literally one of the biggest procrastinators on the planet, I have lost count on how many projects of mine, how many papers, how many plans or kind of wasted or postponed or diluted, just because my procrastination, just like how I procrastinate on English learning, but that wouldn't be a problem with the sponsor of this video~(ad)

?

? The sixth one is called The danger of AI is weirder than you think by Janelle Shane.

I want to recommend this one because the speech took place around three years ago during her stage, she discusses how AI is not as alarming or threatening as a lot of people thought it would be and they would be totally directionless or pointless without human guidance, has only been three years. Look us now.

If you want to remember how AI was like 3 years ago, or if you want to be shocked about how fast the progression is, I recommend you watch this one and just go home and play Detroit become human.?

?
07:13
?

? The seventh one I want to talk about is called The art of misdirection by Paula Robbins.

?I'm not even gonna talk about the content of his speech because that would spoil it. All I can say is that if you're gonna watch one of these aforementioned videos, go watch this one. This is the best. And you're not gonna regret any second of it, and you're not only gonna watch it once, you're gonna watch it countless, many times. And this is gonna be the best video of your week, trust me. (and i'm losing my voice here)

And there is also one that recently blew up. Oh, did I just mention it? Yes, that's how I started the conversation damn it.?

?
07:48
?

? The eighth one, The agony of trying to unsubdcribe by James Veitch.

where he corresponds back and forth and forth with a spam email from the supermarket that one's really interesting, too. I recommend you watch that one. If I haven't mentioned it in the intro, now, I mentioned it.?

Ending

Okay, i'm sorry, i'm dumb. I'm very dumb. Okay, especially i'm aging too. Every time I do one of these ad-reads, it just further enhances my impostor syndrome. I'm just a random dumbass uploading vids whining about my life and i'm lucky to have you guys listen to me. And then there's these kind sponsors be like; can we pay you for whatever you say? Do I deserve this? I don't think I do. This is like influencer simulator. Anyways, i'm leaving for dinner, and I think you guys are coming with me.?
