when are people more likely to make complaints ?

as far as I can tell , there are usually two situations in which people are more likely to make complaints?.
1st?when people buy something on the Internet , after buying they may be feeling unhappy with?what they have bought , especially when shopping online , complaint happens more frequently when they get what they buy?at hand , for example ,.....
2nd?in the industry of service , consumers may be filing complaints?from time to time?if they feel dissatisfied with what they receive , to be honest it is difficult to reach a balance between different customers whose requirements vary , for instance ,.....

which one is better when making a complaint , by talking or by writing ?

a very tough question , from my perspective , it depends on different situations in which we plan out?a complaint based on?how severe what to complain about is .
1st?in terms of?something trivial , talking may be an appropriate way to complain since there is no need?to make it troublesome or eyes catching , a patient conversation is more than enough to get the problem solved , for example ,....
2nd?however when it comes to?a big event or something expensive and luxurious , writing could also be used as an approach to?file a complaint , no matter?it is an email or letter , writing seems way more formal and persuasive when needed , for instance ,....
