The Pondering Whale In the ocean deep and wide, A giant whale did gently glide. It wondered, as it swam along, Which of these waves was truly strong? It thought, "What power do they hold, To push me, pull me, fold and mold?" It pondered, "When will calm seas come, And let me rest, be still, and glum?" It saw a wharf, so straight and tall, And wondered, "Why do humans crawl, To build such things upon the shore, When ocean's freedom they ignore?" And then a whack, a sudden sound, A great white shark had just been found. Shark went and charged, with all its might, To take a bite and start a fight. But with a wham, the whale struck back, Its tail a fierce and deadly whack. The shark was stunned, and followed away, The whale had to ponder on another day.
