從 displace 談到老詞新用法，人生啊就是學(xué)無止境

displace 這個詞可不是什么高級詞，古早就學(xué)過了呢，差不多就是 replace 的意思，比如：工廠的工人已逐漸被機器取代。（見文末答案區(qū)吧）
replace????v. 替代 = to take the place of????(前綴?re-?"back, again" +?place?(v.)?)
place????n. 地點????v. 放置
displace? ? 用英文釋義理解一下（你可以的）"remove to a different place, put out of the usual place; remove from any position, office, or dignity,"??
哎呀呀，所以，“流離失所的人”，“難民”，也就是說? refugee 含義就是 displaced person，嗚嗚被迫離開家鄉(xiāng)，流落他鄉(xiāng)。
dis- 是一個拉丁構(gòu)詞成分，有3種含義哦，也就是說，不同的詞中含義不一樣，所以不要只記一個然后發(fā)現(xiàn)理解不了啦：
"lack of, not" (as in?dishonest);? ?
缺乏 lack of 誠信的/?不 not 誠實的 =? dis- + honest?
"opposite of, do the opposite of" (as in?disallow);?
disallow :refuse to declare valid.? //"the judge disallowed his evidence"
想想 allow 不就是“給某人許可”的意思嘛，give (someone) permission to do something
"apart, away" (as in?discard);
discard 其實本意是“出掉的牌”，literally "to throw a card away," 延伸意思就是個有點憂桑的詞了，大概就是“不要了”、“拋棄了”，物品和人都可以是 discard 的對象……
所以猜猜 displace 的 dis- 是哪個含義呢？?
但是最近看文章，又發(fā)現(xiàn)新用法（語言學(xué)習(xí)就是這樣，永遠(yuǎn)都沒有盡頭??，原來我們從牙牙學(xué)語到聽說讀寫流暢居然是積累了這么多，又理所當(dāng)然了）。
原文是今年8月發(fā)生在 黎巴嫩（Lebanon）首都 貝魯特（Beirut）的爆炸，造成了203人死亡，6500人受傷，30萬人流離失所。維基百科的詞條是這樣的：
On 4 August?2020, a large amount of ammonium nitrate stored at the port of the city of?Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, exploded, causing at least 203 deaths, 6,500 injuries, and US$15 billion in property damage, and leaving an estimated 300,000 people homeless.
黎巴嫩 Lebanon 的地理位置大概是這樣的（國旗未標(biāo)示區(qū)域內(nèi)所有國家，且大小不計，此圖僅示意）：

話說事件發(fā)生后，法國總統(tǒng)馬克龍（France President Emmanuel Macron）?在8月6日去黎巴嫩了。哎？為啥法國總統(tǒng)去?。窟@里又插入一段歷史淵源：
When the Ottoman empire was split up by European powers after the First World War, France was given a mandate to run Lebanon and Syria. 第一次世界大戰(zhàn)（Jul 28, 1914 – Nov 11, 1918）結(jié)束后，黎巴嫩在法國托管下度過了25年。鑒于奧斯曼帝國已經(jīng)解體，國際聯(lián)盟（Société des Nations）也就是現(xiàn)在的聯(lián)合國前身，通過英國和法國在1916年秘密簽署的《賽克斯—皮科特協(xié)定》（accords Sykes-Picot）將伊拉克和當(dāng)今的巴勒斯坦劃歸給英國。由于文化和歷史上的原因，法國則要求擁有敘利亞和黎巴嫩。
馬克龍 是這么說的（引用自《紐約時報》8月6日報道）：
“I see the emotion on your face, the sadness, the pain,” he told one group, speaking of the deep historic ties between their countries, which go back to when Lebanon was under a French mandate. “This is why I’m here.”
這里這個 historic 又可以插入個知識點了（思路要跟上啊同學(xué)們）
名詞 history（歷史）變身 形容詞的時候有兩種形式：historic 和 historical， 有什么區(qū)別呢？一句話就明白了：
A?historic event is one that was very important, whereas a historical event is something that happened in the past.
算了，拿個小本本總結(jié)一下就是：
historic?adj. 歷史上著名（或重要）的；有歷史意義的?important or likely to be?important in history
historical?adj. 歷史的；有關(guān)歷史的
所以兩國之間深厚的歷史淵源，可得用 deep historic ties 啊。
同時，Macron 也做出了承諾（引用自《紐約時報》8月6日報道）：
He vowed to?marshal?aid for the displaced, and promised that it would “not go to corrupt hands,” an indirect dig at Lebanon’s politicians.
此處，用 the displaced 就是指因為爆炸而導(dǎo)致家園被毀，流離失所背井離鄉(xiāng)的人們。終于提到 displace 的第二個釋義了：
displace sb : to force people to move away from their home to another place 迫使（某人）離開家園
eg. Around 10 000 people have been displaced by the fighting.? 大約 1 萬人因戰(zhàn)爭而背井離鄉(xiāng)。
the +?形容詞（adjective）的搭配形式很眼熟吧？高中學(xué)過呢，比如 the old 老年人。差不多就這么理解，別再細(xì)究分詞形容詞啥的了，the displaced 就指的是 流離失所的這些人。
啊其實我想談的是一種蟬（知了）來著，叫?Brood II cicadas，每隔 17年 才大量出現(xiàn)。 這種繁殖策略也挺有趣的，這樣遇到天敵不至于全軍覆沒。所以給其他動物提供了一次“自助餐”，
