Devastating?wildfires in the US state of Hawaii have killed at least six people Large parts of the tourist town of Lahaina on the island of?Maui（毛伊島，在太平洋中北部，夏威夷群島中的第二大島）, have been burned to the ground. The flame spread rapidly, forcing some people to jump into the sea to escape. Daniel Sullivan, who lives in Maui, described the scene: We were completely surrounded at my house. So I just went up my roof and hope that the fires wouldn't burn our house. We've had so much devastation. We've lost front street and?Lahaina(位于美國夏威夷群島茂宜島最西端，夏威夷王國故都), a historic front street. We've had fires all over the island and lots of people have been injured. So, it's been devastating For us, the fires have been driven by high winds from a?hurricane?far to the south of Hawaii.

A two day summit on protecting the Amazon has ended with an appeal for wealthy countries to keep their promises to fund the battle against?global warming. The Brazilian president,?Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva（現(xiàn)任巴西總統(tǒng)）, told the?gathering(集會，會議)?that rich governments must pay not only to protect the forest but also to improve living conditions for the local population.?Leaders of the countries that share the Amazon and?sign?a joint declaration is setting up an alliance to tackle deforestation.

The FBI is shot dead, a man accused of making violent threats against? President Biden. Here is Nomia Iqbal.?A?sealed criminal?complaint(控訴)?shows that Craig Robertson was under investigation for making threats against President Biden, according to documents FBI agents conducting?surveillance（盯梢, 監(jiān)視）?on his home in March. Approached him to talk about his social media?posts（帖子）. They were told by him to return with a?warrant（搜查令，許可證，保證擔保）. The complaints also shows online posts suggesting Robertson intended to kill Mr Biden, with the suspect?allegedly（據(jù)說）?he was cleaning the dust?of his?M24 sniper（M24狙擊步槍）.? This was ahead of the president's visit to?Utah（猶他州）.?We don't know the details of what led to the shooting himself, but the FBI is reviewing what happened.
