Surface Alaysis Charts - shows weather conditions as of the valid time shown on the chart

Station Model

Weather Depiction Charts

Graphical AIRMETs - depiction of hazardous weather and conditions
Issued 4 times a day, each G-AIRMET forecasts hazards for a 12-hour period, broken down into three-hour increments
AIRMET vs. G-AIRMET
AIRMET: Large areas that cover all weather expected for a six hour period
G-AIRMET: More precise areas that describe the exact weather forecast for a given time

Satellite Weather Pictures
Visible satellite images - determine the presence of clouds and?the could shape and texture
Infrared satellite images - depect the heat radiation emitted by cloud tops and the earth's surface

2. Graphic Weather Forecasts
U.S. Low-Level Significant Weather Prognostic Chart - shows area of low visibilities and ceilings as well as regions where turbulence nd icing may exist
Surface Prog Panels

Significant Weather Panels

Convective Outlook Chart - defines areas of convective activity and the associated risk factors as well as areas of general thunderstorms
SLGT: Well-organized severe thunderstorms, in small numbers or a small geographical area are possible
MDT: A potential for a greater concentration of severe thunderstorms than the slight risk, and in most situations, greater severity
HIGH: A major severe weather outbreak is expected, with a high concentration of severe weather reports and an enhanced likelihood of extreme weather

Forecast Winds and Temperatures Aloft Chart - show the predicted temperature, wind speeds, and directions for various altitudes, from the surface to 42,000 feet MSL
