一、單詞記憶

要記憶這個單詞我們首先復習一下初中的時候我們就學過的單詞，dialogue，名詞，“對話”的意思。這個單詞前面的dia表示between，“在…兩者之間”的意思。后面的logue是詞根，“說”的意思。 dialogue，兩個人說話，就是“對話”的意思。logue這個詞根也會把后面的ue省略掉，只寫成log。

我們今天這個單詞在詞根log的前面加上apo，表示away，“遠離”的意思，后面再加上ize，動詞后綴，apologize就是為了遠離懲罰而說話，這個就是“道歉”。

二、單詞用法

1.apologize to sb. for (doing) sth.：因(做)某事向某人道歉

The secretary apologized to the manager for making the same mistake again. ?

2.apologize to sb. that…：因…向某人道歉

He apologized to his mother that he went home late. ?
