1). 在only if這個短語中，副詞only是中心詞，而連接詞if則只是用來連接從句的，因此，它表示“只有/只要……(才)”。

Eg: I told him he would succeed?only if?he tried hard.

I will come home?only if?you come with me.

You'll pass this course?only if?you study hard.?


2).?if only，在這個短語中，中心詞是if, 而only只是加強(qiáng)if的語氣，常常用來表達(dá)強(qiáng)烈的愿望或遺憾，因此，主要用在虛擬語氣中，譯為“要是...就好了”。
