A place of my own with no roommates. I could technically afford an apartment but it would be literally over 3X the rent I'm paying now for a 1 bedroom. Ugh.

I don't know how old are you but I'm 30 and looking for a place to live I chose to rent my own apartment. I pay 40% of my salary a month for rent and bills and it sucks. But I get my own space and that is amazing. I would never go back to having roommates. I even adopted a dog, which would be impossible if I shared a flat.

Seconding this. I've literally never had the money for a dentist. Mine all need to be pulled (what's left of them) and there's no way I can come up with the $8k for all the "surgical removals" plus dentures.

What sucks is that therapy is one of the most in demand services in the country right now, and waiting lists are months (and years in some cases) long. This isn’t meant to discourage looking, just be aware that it’s likely people will have to wait a bit. In the meantime, there are millions of resources available for free online that can help in a pinch, depending on your individual issues. For emotional instability (mood swings, bipolar disorder, anxiety) look into DBT/dialectical-behavioral therapy, specifically Marsha Linehan’s DBT Skills Training Manual. It’s helpful with depression as well, but I’ve found CBT/cognitive-behavioral therapy a little more helpful since it’s more action focused, but that’s totally anecdotal on my part.

Reminds me of the parable of the Mexican fisherman and the Investment banker:
