It's not always working. So that's why we need blending modes. And first, I will explain you how to use layer blending mode.?

So if you double click on this guy, And you see these guys, two guys, basically the way to work like this Top row, I will start with the bottom one. basically, you have this guy over here and this guy over here. ?

Like some kind of sky. Before I did that, you can see why which I don't want to see. So you only need to do is to drag these guys. And you will start revealing the actual. And it depends on what your story is. You can keep going to the moment you feel. maybe this is like a hazy environment. And that's why I want to see those. ?

5. Blending Modes---1-3.Blend Techniques

?So we've got this really simple example an example. And I will try quickly to show you how to very quickly get some really interesting results.?

but still it's not the way it should look like. Like, for example, if I drag it over here and we'll see what I mean, and once you can uncheck this box, the way you cut, you start having like a real light effect, which is very powerful because if you're doing some light effects. ?

5. Blending Modes---2-1.Darken

?So let's move on. I will take this one as a base from a previous chapter.?

let me just make second copy of this layer and I will start with dodges. They're a bunch of different but I will just show you the ones that I use all the time for this kind of exploration, abstract sketches.?

So the first one will be darkened and the way dark and works because they're like, let me just offset this layer like, I'm using CTRL shift t, which is a short cut on my transform for flipping horizontal.?

So and then press CTRL t. And then i'll start moving things around.?

And you see as I move them around dark and is a very good way to kind of build up your silhouette and introduce something new,?

because, for example, let's try multiply and you will see it just makes everything very dark, which I don't really like.?

And then if I'm happy with this composition, then I start adding some new things. hold on. For example the guy walking over here.?

We don't see really the content of this frame. It could be anything. That's why I keep saying like keeping those really abstract in the beginning is very helpful.?

So like, let's say you see this. We did that. we started with pretty bright image. But as we went, we introduce more and more layers. And basically, like if I keep going, it will get darker and darker. But also story wise. You might end up having something really cool.?

For example, over here, if I start deleting these guys. And basically I'm having gold is bit in the darkness, which is really cool. It works as a composition.?
