Just a couple of days ago we witnessed one of the greats of the FIM Motocross World Championship, Antonio Cairoli bid farewell to Grand Prix racing after 18 incredible years in the MXGP paddock.

With his friendly attitude, true sportsmanship and remarkable talent, the Italian quickly became a pioneer for the sport and a true inspiration to many as the things he was able to achieve in the last two decades, others can only dream of.

The final Grand Prix, which also happened to be his home race, as a professional rider was filled with many emotions thanks to the thousands of fans from all over the world who travelled to Mantova for this significant occasion.

The atmosphere as Cairoli crossed the finish line for his final race as a full-time rider was nothing short of amazing. The Italian then made a parade lap to commemorate the moment and to thank his fans that lined the circuit, followed by a huge celebration as his closest friends, family, team members and supporters gathered onto the start straight to give him the send-off he deserved.

Reflecting on the moment, Cairoli shared to his Instagram moments from the day adding, “One Last ride. I was hoping I never had to write this post. Well yes, the time has come to turn the page. Thank you to all the people who have been close to me on this journey and have always given me their best. A hug and I will miss you too very much the support and support you show is unmatched.
