Internship expectation
This summer I plan to do a 2-mouths internship at HUAWEI Technology as a financial commissioner, which gives me the opportunity to learn data-analysis, advancing corporate financial management and digital finance in one of the best technology company in the world. HUAWEI is also known for its delicate financial management system and communication with all kinds of clients, maybe I will also get a chance to participate in a real contract handover with clients so I believe my business communication skills would be practiced. The communications skills I learn in HUAWEI also greatly benefit my future career, as I may become a financial commissioner on customers` side in the future.
As my supervisor introduce the business and potential work I will do this summer, I believe my several academic experience in WASHU could be cooperated into it. One strongly related course is corporate finance, in which I learn a general framework of how to manage a company`s finance, maximize its financial gains, and analyze a potential financial project. These topics are closely related to my work during the internship. Also, the professional communication skills course lay a foundation for me on the communications skills, both in the company and with the clients.
HUAWEI is now putting tons of resources in finance digitalizing. I will learn data-analysis, advancing corporate financial management in such a technology company, I believe these skills are of great importance for my future career, as these are fundamental financial ability in an industry company. The opportunity to work for HUAWEI is a bridge that connect my theoretical knowledge with real financial business in workplace.
Despite of the industry ability that I may learn during the internship, I also wish to develop long-term relationship with my supervisor, mentor, and co-workers. If I get a return offer, these people are who I will meet and work together every day. I want to leave a good impression on my supervisor and manager, I want to be hardworking and careful, I will do my best to ask questions and absorb anything new in the company. I want to work with enthusiasm, have constant discussion and debate with others, and attend useful lectures. There will be about 6 other students doing internship in my department and I believe we will develop friendship with each other and at the same time compete for a better chance to get a return offer.
I plan to write report every week, I am expected to come up with a digital template concerning date analyzing at the end of the internship. I am also expected to put my financial knowledge into practical use and learn basic skills in this industry.
All in all, I want to have a fulfilling and pleasant internship this summer.
