SM74EE - Course 15: Crudelo Sphere, Bloody Scream of Rage (No Savestates)

Super Mario 74: Extreme Edition is a Super Mario 64 hack created by Lugmillord. In this video, I complete star 6 of course 15, Bloody Scream of Rage, without savestates. I'm now the 30th person to beat SM74EE, best Christmas present I've ever given myself. This is hands down the greatest gaming achievement of my life so far.

This took a little over 18 hours of attempts. This final run was preceded by chokes with 17 coins, 16 coins, 11 coins, and 15 coins all in a row. I got to a point where I was really in the zone and could play through the first 14 coins quite consistently. However, after successfully making the jump at 10:07, my heart started pounding because I'd cleared all 3 amp-fire spitter jumps at the start and completed the hardest jump in the level. The 15th coin in this video was a real mid-to-late run killer for most of the time I was trying to get this star. Thankfully, I finally made it this time. This was brutal and took nearly twice as long as Crudelo star 5, the 2nd hardest star in the game, nearly 3 times as long as the 3rd hardest star (Ztar reds), and about 5 or 6 times as long as the 4th and 5th hardest stars (Veneno reds and Quicksand Pit reds).

Some interesting trivia about the extreme hacks I've beaten:

-Both of the hardest hacks I've beaten came on a holiday: I beat Mario's Nightmare 64 or Halloween (fitting since it's Mario's NIGHTMARE which fits well with that holiday) and now I've beaten SM74EE at 1 AM on Christmas morning.

-I became the 34th person to beat Mario's Nightmare less than 2 weeks after the 33rd person beat it and I became the 30th person to beat SM74EE less than 2 days after the 29th person beat it. Congrats to all who have beaten these hacks before me and all who will beat them after me. I'm very happy and very proud of this achievement and hopefully I don't come off like I'm bragging too much, but I'm just so glad I beat this hack. It's something I've dreamed of doing for almost two and a half years.
