As a medical student, most of the classes take place in Ninewells Hospital, which is the comprehensive teaching hospital in Dundee, rather than in main campus.

In this post, I will give a brief introduction about having classes in Ninewells in a Q&A way.

Q: How to get to Ninewells Hospital? Is it far from the city center?

ninewells離市中心遠(yuǎn)嗎？我們需要怎么去呢？

A: It’s a little bit far,personally. But most buses in Dundee terminates in Ninewells as long as we find the nearby bus station, which is really convenient. So don’t worry about the transportation. Another way, which I think is quite insane, is to walk there.??It takes approximately 50-minutes walk from main campus. It sounds exhausting, isn’t it????But I believe you would love the scene in Dundee while you’re walking.

ninewells距離市中心或者是主教學(xué)區(qū)是有一點(diǎn)距離的，但是大部分公交車都能夠到ninewells。所以不需要擔(dān)心交通問題，因?yàn)樵卩嚨?，個(gè)一小段距離就是一個(gè)車站。當(dāng)然也可以走路過去上課，從主校區(qū)走到ninewells需要大概50分鐘的路程，但是沿途的風(fēng)景十分的漂亮。

Q: Will it be hard for international students to adapt to the new environment?

國(guó)際學(xué)生會(huì)難適應(yīng)新環(huán)境嗎？

A: From my own experience, I found no difficult in getting used to the new surrounding. Firstly, there is a welcome week in University of Dundee, so we had chance to familiarize the surrounding before??beginning the semester. Secondly, tutors in our department are so kind that they will slow down the speed in the lecture at first to make sure every students can understand the content. The class size of Rehabilitation Technology is compact, which means tutor have more chances to have interaction with each student. And everyone is welcomed to ask questions after class.

以我個(gè)人的經(jīng)驗(yàn)來說，我很快就適應(yīng)了全英教學(xué)的這個(gè)環(huán)境。在正式上課前一個(gè)禮拜，學(xué)校會(huì)有新生歡迎周，我們可以通過這一周的時(shí)間去熟悉周邊環(huán)境；其次，部門的老師人都很友善，上課的時(shí)候會(huì)盡量讓每個(gè)學(xué)生都能夠理解教學(xué)內(nèi)容。如果是骨科康復(fù)技術(shù)的同學(xué)，我們是屬于小班教學(xué)的，老師基本上都會(huì)認(rèn)識(shí)我們每個(gè)學(xué)生，所以有什么問題可以課上提問或者課后發(fā)郵件。

Q: Will it be busy on weekdays?

上課會(huì)很忙嗎？

A: I would have to say ‘no’???We don’t have classes everyday, but we need to finish one or two reading tasks and the related assessment per week. This depends on our self-discipline. In semester one, we spend major time in attending the lectures like statistics and mechanics. From semester two, we can commence our own project and less classes need to be taken.?

我覺得其實(shí)沒有很忙，我們不需要每天去上課，但是每一周我們都會(huì)有一到兩份作業(yè)。

第一學(xué)期的課程可能相對(duì)來說會(huì)多一點(diǎn)，但是不會(huì)多得讓我們很疲憊，所以不需要擔(dān)心！從第二學(xué)期開始，我們就可以著手自己的project了！
