【雅思口語5-8月】童年游戲 ? Describe a game you pl

Growing up,?I used to?move from place to place. So I?rarely?had the luxury of being surrounded by a lot of childhood friends. Group activities for kids?like hide-and-seek?and hopscotch?were pretty much out of the question?for me. But luckily, I got my hands on?my first computer at a very early age. So at least I had video games to keep me company.
?
As I take a trip down memory lane, (as well as my video game collection), one particular game stuck out as my all time favorite. And that’s the Sims, which is a?real life simulation game where you can build a new life. For the childhood version of me that was basically?playing pretend?on a computer screen. So unlike?typical kids who hang out in a nearby park, I used to play?the Sims?alone?in the privacy of my own home.
?
As to how I felt about it...?suffice to say that this game is literally my childhood...as well as my adolescence?and early adulthood. In fact, I’ve been playing the Sims franchise for as long as I can remember, so...
?
But flash back to childhood... I can still remember how I used to sneak in to the study?when my parents were fast asleep and I’d wait excitedly for the game to load?in the pitch dark.
?
I think my obsession?has to do with?how the game allowed me a new sense of freedom. I got to build my own home, control my own characters and live my own secret life. I guess for someone who had a really strict upbringing, this new found autonomy?was just a breath of fresh air!
?
Besides, I also love how imaginative?I could get while playing the game. From designing the home decor?to mapping out?my characters’?career path, the game?offers infinite possibilities, which?could really get the creative juices flowing.
?
Some would say the game’s a life ruiner, because once you start, you’d be unable to stop and you’d end up neglecting all your responsibilities, but I still absolutely adore?it! I’m so glad it exists in the world and created so many great childhood memories?for me!
