With life expectancy壽命 of humans becoming longer worldwide, preventing illnesses in advance is a vital approach for everyone to have a happier and healthier life after retirement. According to the suggestions of doctors, it is favorable for senior citizens to do sports on a daily basis, which is, however, hardly followed by many aged people, especially in China. So in this essay I will dissect解剖、分析/explore the reasons of this issue and the possible/potential solutions to approach it.
?
First of all, China still has a well-known convention習(xí)俗 that the older generation needs to help their 20 or 30 something children to take care of their babies, who are also their grandchildren. This kind of Oriental東方的 familyobligation責(zé)任義務(wù) confines禁錮 many retired grandparents at home, comforting babies, cooking meals and doing housework, instead of going out to do sports like their peers. Secondly, there was no culture for exercise in the previous generations. Unlike the life for the Millennials千禧一代, Baby boomers嬰兒潮一代(1940-1960左右出生的人) and Gen X(1960-1980左右出生的人) did not have the awareness意識(shí) of doing regular sports and usually did not focus so much on personal appearance個(gè)人形象 and their health. Last but not least, the inadequacy不足 of sports facilities and venues場(chǎng)地, like stadiums, gums, fitness centers and parks, is also a contributing有關(guān)的 factor of insufficient exercise for elders長(zhǎng)者.
?
Based on the reasons analyzed above, multifaceted多重的 solutions can be adopted to mitigate緩解 the status quo現(xiàn)狀. In order to liberate解放 older generations from tiresome housework and baby-caring, governments should sponsor資助 more nurseries幼兒園 to give a hand to those young parents, who are grappling with摔跤,應(yīng)對(duì)困境 hustling and bustling city life繁忙都市生活 and having no time to attend to照顧 their babies. Also, yearly thorough medical examinations體檢 should be provided for the elderly by the government. Chronic diseases慢性疾病 like hypertension高血壓, diabetes高血糖 and high cholesterol高血脂 should be monitored監(jiān)測(cè) in the early stages before it’s too late. Furthermore, a larger portion of public funds should be allocated分配 in planning and constructing sports related infrastructure基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施 in neighborhood adjacent毗鄰的 areas. ?Not only should there be more convenience and availability for the elderly to reach out for sports facilities, but municipal市政府的 departments should also design more age-appropriate年齡適合的 ?equipment for senior citizens.
?
In conclusion, although there are conventional, mentality and governmental reasons for the inadequate exercise of elder generations, feasible切實(shí)可行的 solutions can still alleviate緩解 the problem and help more seniors to participate in dancing and hiking like their other counterparts.
