Panda is a national treasure(國(guó)寶) in China, and it is also one of the most popular rare animals in the world .They are famous for their unique appearance(外貌) and cute image.Panda mainly feed on (以什么為食) bamboo .They also eat some fruits and tender leaves (嫩葉)of plants (植物).

Their body size is relatively(較) large,With a body length of up to 1.2 to 1.8 meters and a body weight of over(可超過(guò)) 100 kilograms.

They live in mountain regions(山區(qū)) in China,including Sichuan,Shaanxi（陜西），Gansu,and Qinghai.

Due to factors like(等因素) the loss of habitats , reproduction (繁殖) difficulty and illegal hunting,the population of panda has dramatically decreased/declined sharply .It was listed as an endangered species.

Chinese government has been putting efforts to(致力于) protect pandas and strives to (努力)restore （恢復(fù)）the population of it.

Through establishing natural protection areas and artificial reproduction（人工繁育）.

Currently,the condition(狀況) of panda's protection is gradually improving(好轉(zhuǎn)).It has become a successful model(典范) for the proctection of Chinese rare wild animal.
