“中國逼著你們表揚(yáng)？”記者挑釁發(fā)問，WHO總干事的回答太帥了！
“中國是否向世衛(wèi)組織施壓，要求你們表揚(yáng)中國？”
在日前舉行的“科研路線圖：新型冠狀病毒全球研究與創(chuàng)新論壇”上，一位歐洲新聞電視臺的記者向世界衛(wèi)生組織提出了這樣一個(gè)問題。
“Has the Chinese government approached the WHO to ask it to stand up and say that China is doing a good job? Was there pressure put on this organization to say those sorts of things...?because?I know how important it is saving face in China.”
中國政府是否要求WHO站出來為中國說話，表揚(yáng)他們干得好？世衛(wèi)組織是否迫于壓力說了這些話？因?yàn)槲抑乐袊撕芤孀印?/span>
面對這樣刻薄的問話，世衛(wèi)組織總干事譚德塞（Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus）給了一個(gè)有理有據(jù)、有情有義的精彩回答，他說：
China doesn't need to ask to be praised… because we have seen these concrete things that should be appreciated.
中國不用要求我們表揚(yáng)……因?yàn)樗麄冊谧龅膶?shí)實(shí)在在的事情，我們親眼見到，應(yīng)該予以表揚(yáng)。

他首先給出兩個(gè)例子說明世衛(wèi)組織為什么表揚(yáng)中國。
For instance,?the pathogen was identified at a record time and immediately they share the sequence. It helped other countries to prepare the diagnostic tools to test cases. They have helped actually in preparing other countries and in preventing the problem from growing.
一個(gè)例子是中國快速地識別出病原體，并在第一時(shí)間分享了病毒基因序列。正因如此，其他國家才能立刻著手準(zhǔn)備測試和診斷工具，這實(shí)際上是幫助其他國家盡早預(yù)防，避免這一問題變得不可收拾。
In addition to that, I will give you one example. There was a Chinese woman who visited Germany tested positive for the virus after returning to Shanghai. The Chinese authorities immediately notified Germany that they have to take action. Germany took that information and immediately took action to prevent any serious problem and that's why now things are under control in Germany.
除此之外，我再給你一個(gè)例子。有一位中國女士訪問德國，返回上海后相關(guān)病毒檢測呈陽性，中國政府立即通知德國政府注意防范。德國收到上述信息并采取了必要措施，這就是為什么現(xiàn)在疫情在德國得到了控制。
So I think you would agree with me that it's very important to appreciate a country or an individual qualified for something you see. It's the truth.
我想你也會同意我的看法，那就是如果某個(gè)人或某個(gè)國家做了正確的事情，你就要表示肯定。這就是事實(shí)。
譚德塞說，并不是只有他一個(gè)人在表揚(yáng)中國，這是許多成員國的共識。大家都在說中國的行動(dòng)令全世界更加安全，承認(rèn)這一點(diǎn)有什么錯(cuò)嗎？
We were in this boardroom for a board meeting and almost all member states were praising China for what it did and they had a reason.
我們剛剛在這間會議廳開會，幾乎所有的成員國都在贊賞中國的行動(dòng)，他們的贊賞是有理由的。
China took action massively at the epicenter of the outbreak.?It's a shutdown of the Wuhan city.?It helped in preventing cases from being exported to other provinces in China and the rest of the world.
中國在疫情爆發(fā)的中心采取了大規(guī)模防疫行動(dòng)，即對武漢進(jìn)行“封城”。這一做法有效控制了病毒向其他省區(qū)乃至其他國家傳播。
I remember a board member from the UK said?this is heroic,?because when you shut down a city and province like that it has consequences, economic and so on.
我記得一位英國代表說，這是一個(gè)“英勇的行動(dòng)”，因?yàn)榉忾]像武漢那樣的城市，是要付出經(jīng)濟(jì)代價(jià)、承受各種后果的。
They're saying the actions of China is making us safer.
大家都在說中國的行動(dòng)令全世界更加安全。
So what's wrong with acknowledging this?
承認(rèn)這一點(diǎn)有什么錯(cuò)嗎？
譚德塞還表示親眼見到習(xí)近平主席是如何部署和動(dòng)員疫情防控工作的。他反問記者，你難道不欣賞這樣的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力嗎？
We have met the president. We have seen the level of knowledge he has on the outbreak. We saw firsthand that he was directly leading the fight against the outbreak.?
我們見到了習(xí)主席。我們看到了他對于這次疫情了解得有多么深入，我們親眼看到他直接領(lǐng)導(dǎo)了這場抗擊疫情的行動(dòng)。
You know we always ask for political commitment and?political leadership. That's?what we have seen. So don't you appreciate that kind of leadership?
我們總在呼吁政府的投入和領(lǐng)導(dǎo)。我們現(xiàn)在所看到的就是啊。難道你不欣賞這樣的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力嗎？
譚德塞還說，世衛(wèi)組織因?yàn)槎啻钨潛P(yáng)中國的抗疫行動(dòng)，而遭受來自外界的壓力，但他們不會迫于壓力而說假話。
I know there is a lot of pressure on WHO when we appreciate what China is doing, but we should not fail to tell the truth because of the pressure.
我知道世衛(wèi)組織因?yàn)槎啻钨潛P(yáng)中國的抗疫行動(dòng)而遭受巨大壓力，但我們不會迫于壓力就不說真話。
We should tell the truth and that's the truth.
我們必須說真話，這就是真話。
China doesn't need to ask to be praised?and I don't expect any country to ask?to be praised.?
中國不用要求我們表揚(yáng)。我也不認(rèn)為其他國家會要求世衛(wèi)組織表揚(yáng)他們。
It was not. It is not. That's the truth, the whole truth.?
以前沒有，現(xiàn)在也沒有，這就是事實(shí)，全部的事實(shí)。
And with my colleagues we speak the same language?because we have seen these concrete things that should be appreciated.
我和我的同事們都持相同觀點(diǎn)，因?yàn)槲覀冇H眼見到了這些實(shí)實(shí)在在的值得表揚(yáng)的事情。
譚德塞說，中國為防疫作出的努力，全世界都可以見證，因?yàn)閿?shù)字和事實(shí)不會說謊，世衛(wèi)組織用不著來粉飾和吹噓。
China is doing many good things that slow?the virus and the facts speak for themselves and this has to be recognized.
中國為控制病毒擴(kuò)散采取了很多有效措施，事實(shí)勝于雄辯，這點(diǎn)必須得到承認(rèn)。
And the whole world is seeing this.?In China there are more than 40,000 confirmed cases, but in the rest of the world we have less than 400 or around 400 and only one death. So let the truth speak for itself and the world can judge.??
而這也是全世界有目共睹的?，F(xiàn)在中國有4萬多確診病例，世界其他各地只有不到400或400左右和一例死亡（注：這是譚德塞在12日掌握的數(shù)據(jù)）。所以讓事實(shí)說話，全世界可以作出自己的判斷。
There is no spinning here, because if the rest of the world had had cases, I don't think they will hide it.
這里面沒有任何粉飾，因?yàn)槭澜缙渌麌叶荚趫?bào)病例，我想他們不會隱瞞病例吧。

We don't say anything to please anyone. It's because it's the truth.

Even if it's just one person staying and telling the truth, I think that should be the case.

We're telling the truth and we will tell the truth and that's what we believe.

他說，承認(rèn)和贊揚(yáng)一個(gè)國家所做的正確的事情，有兩個(gè)好處：
First, it helps them to continue doing the right things?they are?doing; second, it helps other countries to recognize the good practice and they can learn from that country.
第一、有助于鼓勵(lì)他們繼續(xù)做正確的事；第二、有助于其他國家認(rèn)識到這些好的做法，并借鑒學(xué)習(xí)該國經(jīng)驗(yàn)。
最后，譚德塞再次強(qiáng)調(diào)，疫情當(dāng)前，不要再攻擊和抹黑某一個(gè)國家，世界各國應(yīng)當(dāng)團(tuán)結(jié)起來，抗擊共同的敵人。
What's important is not stigmatizing a country or attacking a country, but standing in solidarity in fighting against the common enemy, COVID-19.
最重要的是，不要攻擊和抹黑某一個(gè)國家，而是團(tuán)結(jié)一致，抗擊我們共同的敵人，新冠肺炎。
