Learning has always been an essential element in today’s life. In this case, some people begin to hold the view that things learned from one’s family members are the most important. While as far as I’m concerned, it is not the reality and there are some other things that are of greater importance. My view is going to be illustrated by the following reasons and examples.

To start with, things learned from family members may not be correct, which makes them never the most important things. It must be addressed that when it comes to the aim of learning something, ensuring that one can learn something right is of great importance. That’s because only the correct knowledge can help individuals to find useful solutions efficiently, broaden their horizons in the right direction, and save their time and energy. Thus, considering all the benefits of learning the right things, the argument that what family members teach is the most important should remain skeptical. To be specific, family members, especially those who are relatively older, cannot guarantee to always offer the right things since they hardly can be professional educationalists. They may be limited by their educational background and personal experience, delivering something meaningless or even incorrect. Devoting time to learning all those kinds of things is definitely a waste of time and even would pose negative effects on the individuals’ growth. This lends a credence to my standpoint that things learned from family members can never be the most important.?

In addition, some other things are more important than those things learned from family members, such as things learned from teachers and schools since they are more comprehensive. Learning comprehensive knowledge is also of great importance for individuals. The more knowledge they learn, the more competitive they are going to be. In that case, they would be able to view issues from different angles and find more reasonable solutions. Thus, to gain a comprehensive knowledge base, learning from teachers or schools, rather than taking in knowledge from family members, would be a better choice. To give more details, teachers in schools usually are trained well before they can give lectures to students, and there are different teachers who major in different subjects in schools, and it is just the prerequisite that a family or family members cannot offer. This means students would be given the chance to learn things from different fields, ranging from art, science, psychology, and so on. As a result, compared with those who learn things from family members, students in school can probe deeper into a bigger world of knowledge and learn something more.

To sum up, my preference for the view that things that family members teach are not the most important is justified by the above-mentioned reasons and examples.
