8. Visualizing Your Story---3-4.Achieving Speed In Your Painting

P89 - 00:00?

So I kind of decided to move on with this sketch, but I think that there is something I want to change and probably it's the sky like,?

I want to use this color palette. I really want this sky to be very low in terms of, I want to be more rainy and the place where these guys are going should to be like very far away.?

And the other thing I want you to notice that I set up a timer, like I have this program over here. that tells me how much time I'm spending on this painting. I just move things around a lot, without actually you're getting a good progress on my painting. So that's why I usually set up myself a goal. This is going to be a fast kind of painting type of thing. so I will probably paint the less, but I will do my best to assemble the picture as fast as possible. ?

And as you see, I'm using blending modes again because it's a very fast way, kind of readjusting your new values and the mood and stuff like that without actually going making selections.?

So make sure that you really understand the way it works. Let's just do like a rain patches over there. order kind of stylize the sky a little bit because I want to have a little bit more control of how I create the mood in my sky, ?

So what are you doing? Like something adjustments to make this guy even more epic? and even more dramatic. Introducing some more layers to this clouds.?

Let’s just get another brush. Now I create layer like a very low opacity. To give a little bit of direction to my clouds because this is something it is very difficult to do with photos.?

P89 - 11:25換刷子,不透明度,畫出方向感。?

because what would basically, I'm doing right now. I'm kind of exaggerating what I'm seeing in the clouds, to create more dynamic variation of what I'm seeing on the photo, let’s merge it a little bit. And i've got 11 minutes to go. So I better speed it up a little bit.?

Let's move on to the ground. Let's just merge everything that I will do the same on the ground. So I create the layer with lower opacity. And I will start creating something direction.?

These guys, we're gonna try a major color to see if it works for us in terms of lighting . I can go and copy merged this one.? I will go to image mode. Match color, select layer 35. Maybe make those darker.?

Maybe bring those colors a little bit back. I think they look good.?

?And also they need a little bit of warmth from the sun. It's very subtle.?

Also to realize that what I'm painting over like these photos trying to follow the forms. I’m not creating just like a random brush strokes and really trying to maintain and exaggerate the forms and stuff like that. ?

alright we almost there. something happened to my work in public. And I'm constantly squinting my eyes. removing the details that I really don't need.?

Now I will just start blending things together and probably just using mixer brush holds smudge here and there. Kind of blend stuff together. I think I need to darken this horse a little bit.?

?And also the fact that I'm not really happy with is this leg. Kind of intersecting with the tail. As an artist, we always have the freedom we change things, It was not depending on the photos too much. And I quickly fix this. that's pretty much it. I will probably come back and take a look with a fresh eye after I’ve finished.?

and overall, this is how much time you want to spend and how much stabilization and finish you want to achieve. And once you have those in mind, it will be much easier for you to get something done before your deadline.?

So make sure that you set up a time limit for this one I equals 30 minutes. The next one, it probably will be 5 hours. So it all depends on what you want to do. But at this stage, like after a few couple of minor adjustments,?
