【告別寵物 | 安樂(lè)死】Understanding your Pet's ...

As pets get older they slow down, they develop diseases and they pass away or we have to humanely put them to sleep, but one thing you may not know is that animals don’t always just fall asleep and pass away peacefully like we would think.
WHAT ARE SOME WAYS YOU WILL KNOW ITS TIME:
Their quality of life is when we know. And YOU the pet owner watching this video right now, will know when their quality of life is not good.
Declining quality of life is what will determine when it’s time to put a pet to sleep and I made these 3 groups to help us understand:
Number 1: If a pet is sick from a disease or inoperable tumor.
- For example, severe kidney disease, liver disease causes or cancers.
- These diseases make our pets feel sick, weak, they loose weight or even start to vomit and their quality of life begins to decline.
- Heart disease patents that have severe muscle wasting and fluid constantly building up in their chest, and their medications cause kidney failure it is ok to put them to sleep.
- If they have an inoperable tumor, such as giant bleeding sarcomas on their limbs or other areas that are becoming infected and cannot be cured.
Number 2: Old age and dementia
- If they develop severe sun downers syndrome or doggie dementia and pace aimlessly all night, falling over and exhaust themselves. Some dog's will howl all night too and no amount of sedatives works. Some owners even think they don’t know who they are.
- When pets are Not able to get up and walk due to arthritis or deteriorating muscle ot causes them to be too weak to stay clean ….
- Urinating and defecating on themselves, causing them to have urine scalding or poop clumbs on them which is not comfortable for them or us.
- When they stop eating and drinking and start to become anorexic with their bones protruding, which progresses to their inability to walk. When they're eyes start to sink in their head and they are dehydrated, its simply time.
Number 3: Traumatic accident such as a hit by car accident
- If a pet is suffering at the time of the accident it is ok to put them to sleep right then.
You see it’s not as easy as you think deciding when it’s time to put a pet to sleep but I hope these reasons and examples helps you make the decision for your pet.
Pets love us so much that they will keep going for us. But when they are suffering, we need to make the decision that its truly time to end their suffering and put them to sleep.
So what does a veterinarian do when they put your pet to sleep? Your vet will most likely place an IV catheter in your pet to administer sedatives and pain medication to make them calm and comfortable. Then your vet may give them an IV anesthetic drug to put them fully under anesthesia, and they give the pet euthanasia solution which slowly stops their heart and puts them to sleep. This process is painless and your pet will cross over the rainbow bridge and you will see them again.
