Once upon a time, a girl called Catherine dated a 31 years old Canadian guy called Graham at campus. Her friends quickly began to judge her a lot about the age boundary. She didn’t listen to their advices at all and decided to follow her own heart. She’s been hanging out with this guy for several weeks. They went to different bars in the late night, from cocktail to beer, a true complexity type that easy to get tipsy. She knew she has been fallen in love with him, even though she can’t give him a family at such a young age.

Catherine is somewhat a wild person who always want to take challenges in real life and warm hearted to make a lot of friends. But she is not that rational to embrace only the positive things coming up in her real life, but also the bad ones. A friend even regarded her as a ‘high school girl, ’just because she never tackles with a long-term relationship. Her mind is between conservative and modern, which get her confused all the time. Recently, she’s been talking with a random guy called Jason online and she feel a weird connection is built upon their conversation.

She intended to speak things straightforward and therefore dropped everything about the principles. It is clearly that she knows what will happen afterwards and she has fully prepared. It is well known that only losers will date on the internet and highly inappropriate to imagine and paint somebody in an ideal way. After a talk, she realized everything is over and she first felt kind of relieve in such a long time.

Some people would agree that only three things are important in the dating culture, “l(fā)ooks, money and manner.”

It is a curse that men and women should never make a decision regards to relationship easily and arbitrarily during the quarantine time. You care, you make the first move and you lose completely out the game. When you talk someone on the internet, you tend to outline them in a perfect way. However, there is nothing to judge that everyone seems to have their own personal emotional suppliers, no matter where they are and what profession they do. But the thing is you never ever will give someone your personal information out, or otherwise you will become a completely stupid standing naked in the late night on the street. Who knows what you will give out next time, your credit card password?

There is no pure trust and relationship in the real life. It seems that we live in a bubble that never will burst but we are actually living among a bunch of conmen. Just like Catherine’s friend, a sophisticated girl. She met someone from her university and soon finds out he is nothing just a con-men that make lies for a living. How terrified it is to find out someone is like this standing next to you in a suit every day and even hold you hands to go shopping together??

Is online conversation become a very glamourous thing and efficiently solve our problems or it is just a gathering place for con-men? Have we become our own agent and try to impress everyone we meet?

Are we just completely losers that only knows how to make a fake profile or photoshop skills? Is brain still matters or how many people are willing to exchange intelligence for beauty? Are we actually living in a barter economy that depends on the possibility of exchange goods???It feels like we are, but for the god’s sake, it’s 2020. Since the first lockdown accidentally happened in April, have we just dumped the habit of reading and improving ourselves? The scary facts showed that we lose the precious time that going to change our lives in a while. If I mean to plan a career or a promising life sooner or later, what the hell would I willing to download the voice call apps? Am I a person who take charge of my desires or my desires that drives me crazy?

Anyhow, from my own perspective, I will never make voice calls with strangers in the future. I am not that stupid that will trust someone completely just upon the misrepresentations and all the fraudulent words. It is not worth a penny indeed. In the end, what profit can you exactly get? Money? Gift? Or a perfect partner? Life is complicated that we are not supposed to add unnecessary weight on it. :)
