1. Design Principles---2-5.Space
P8 - 00:00?
The design of the space, it’s actually pretty straightforward, like depending on the spacing between objects in your scene, you will have different stories,?
Like, that's why I picked the jupiter and its satellite to show you like in 3D space, how you can dramatically change your story just by using different camera, just using the space.?
imagine if we switch off this satellite. let's say. Switched off this one. from the texture, everyone knows how Jupiter looks like. So we can say it's a huge thing. having another object and the spacing between them will tell you even more because now you can say,? this is a giant planet, is that this one was not a planet, another object which is satellite??
And look just because they have the spacing between them. Just by changing the lighting, you can create really, really cool things. Like for example, like creating different views, like close up for that. And all you need is just a paint something else. Let’s say there is a spaceship towards that. boots, just changing everything. Like, let's make this picture pretty small.?
And you can see within this story, there is a planet and there is a small spaceship and it just changes everything. It changes your perception of the space and also changes the story of the world.?
Let's do another example. let's just rotate our space a little bit. This is a completely different story. ?
there is a lot of space. You can see it's casting the shadow which shows you the a finger.?
And then basically you paint something else. Like for example, you paint another spaceship flying towards those guys. So you've got this motion towards this frame. You look at the planet, and then you see this guy working as well. So that's probably a destination point, just fade it a bit.?
So now we know we've got this object that's flying towards it. And there is a completely different story. So spacing is not very important, is an element that you need to understand. And use it together with all of those, with all of the different elements to tell your own stories.?
So that's pretty much it. It's pretty straightforward. And I encourage you guys to play with this template that I created because I really like the way 3D photoshop works, because it can give you quick access to very similar primitive lighting, textures and geometry.?
So feel Free to experiment with those as well. And definitely I will be showing a lot more in the next lectures because the next texture is more about fundamental and it’s more about basic stuff.?

1. Design Principles---2-6.Color
P9 - 00:02?
?This one would be the short one, because everybody know that just change the color you can completely change the story like that.?
There will be a separate tutorial on the colors. this one will be mainly explain the color that is another design element.?
Actually, all all of these guys they had the color like for example, when you see the moon, everybody knows that the moon is desaturated one.?
there is not much of color going on. But everybody knows when it comes to Jupiter. Jupiter has a really nice warm palette tool.?
So whenever you see this one, we can definitely say it's Jupiter and just by seeing this color, you can easily tell that was a Jupiter. Even if we speak of all the lighting again, can simplify the texture Just by seeing those stripes and the color, you can immediately say, okay, that's the Jupiter.?
Same with Saturn. And it also has this warm color to it. for example, this was a red planet than you could say, it's a planet with rings. But it's not Saturn. It's something else because Saturn has a very specific Satellite as well.?
Mars, everyone knows that the red planet is Mars. So and we have a little bit of red with white and with the dark patches you will say straightaway. It's a mars,?
It contains a lot of sulfur on its surface. So that's why it's pretty yellow. So whenever you see a yellow planet would definitely say, okay, it's all for it's one of those things where the color which actually indicates that both substances, What it consists of. when you see something yellow is a chemical elementary would definitely say it's all for Uranus,?
and the last one would be Neptune. But everybody knows that the world is an ice covered planet. So that's why it has this white cool and blue tone. but some warm patches as well. So that's pretty much it about color. ?
And I think we kind of finished our design elements. We know that we start with a shape. We use different things to define the form. We put texture to define the scale. We place our objects in space tool. Tell the scale and tell how things are apart from each other. And then by adding a color, we just emphasize our story even more so those five guys. It's very simple. But just by using those five elements You can create endless combinations.?
If you understand each one of those very well, you will be much more flexible and strong in your ideas. because all you need to do, remember when you were in school, they constantly tell you like it took me years to actually understand this thing.?
They would say learn the rules.and then forget. I was like sitting in the school listening to all these lectures that I was like. What the heck is that? Does that mean, I didn't know why are they teaching us this rules and then telling us to forget it? But actually, what do you do once you learn all those rules, You put the check Mark. And then basically forget them because you never actually use them consciously. And they will be hidden in your mind. what I'm working? I never think about those designers. I need to put texture, I need to put it. I do put those together, but I already have done them subconscious.?
But it's like riding a bicycle in only if you're riding a bicycle. Whenever we were learning to ride a bicycle. Like you would have your father behind you. It will help you. But we do things with that. He was so scared. He would think about every move you? would do. But after doing it for a while, you will just do it automatically.?
the same with the design principles. You learn shape. You learn how to use form texture spacing and color. And then all you need to do is to work on your ideas. Rather than just trying to. I need to use that on that. I need to use this one. ?
And why this is important? Once again, if you don't understand these principles, you actually will never know which one of those you need to use to reinforce your story.?
Like, let's say you put you make a composition. You can make a random composition. doing something, blah, blah, blah. It looks cool, but something is missing. And you really don't know what actually is missing. Say you've got this one. You need to reinforce your story somehow. But you are not aware of those guys. And then it'll be really difficult to make a decision. But if you know those things, so maybe you just need a little bit red color. To show you to separate your character, ?
What’s happening? But anyway, so learn those rules and they will make you much more powerful as a artist, as a person. And the most important as an idea generator.?
Because once again, don't forget it. Everyone has ideas. You look around, everybody would save. I want to make a movie. Another guy says, I wanna make my novel. Some people say, I want to make my project. And guess what? Never did. Because. Ideas are nothing. What is important is what you see on your computer.?
This is what's important and what you see in the cinema, or you've seen the game. That's more important. These ideas are nothing. If you don't have a skill, mindset, patience to put those together.?
That's why I strongly recommend you first learn to reinforce the fundamentals. Simple tools. And practice. Just by following those three guys. You can build on Top of the mountain.?
No matter whatever you do. And all the rest guys would be interested in looking at you being jealous.
