樂高公開IDEAS百獸王產(chǎn)品設(shè)計原型 解讀百獸王為了模型穩(wěn)定性背后的故事

? ? ? ???2018年7月21日，LEGO IDEAS系列 21311 百獸王在位于上海迪士尼小鎮(zhèn)的樂高品牌旗艦店進行全球首發(fā)儀式，作為IDEAS本款套裝的原設(shè)計師，菲律賓樂高玩家Leandro Tayag特別受邀來到上海，舉行百獸王套裝的現(xiàn)場簽售。此刻在美國圣地亞哥的SDCC動漫節(jié)會場上，樂高IDEAS系列的官方設(shè)計師正在進行美國地區(qū)的簽售活動。? ? ? ? ?

? ? ? ? ? 這也是中國首個進行簽售的LEGO IDEAS系列原設(shè)計師。
? ? ? ? 在簽售現(xiàn)象，當時還沒有成為樂高集團認證媒體的“木頭鴨子”對Leandro Tayag進行了“木頭鴨子”第一次設(shè)計師專訪，采訪中也提及原設(shè)計和官方作品的最大差異，Lendy提到的一個詞叫做“穩(wěn)固性”。
?? ? ? ? “樂高官方套裝最大的改進在于產(chǎn)品的穩(wěn)固性（對于兩款模型實物可以明顯看出，原始版本的百獸王比較松垮，站立起來也很困難，而樂高的版本則輕松很多，也很結(jié)實），主要原因還是因為樂高需要大家去“玩”。所以在某些地方因為穩(wěn)固性進行了比較大的修改。例如嘴巴，最初的版本其實只有一個凸點和上臉部連接，但是這樣就非常不穩(wěn)定，官方版本采用印刷零件和3個凸點進行連接以改進這個問題。
? ? ? ?而針對于玩家而言，如果要進行改進最好還是以造型為主，Lendy目前已經(jīng)制作了若干百獸王的改進版本模型，希望他們可以更加還原真實造型?！?/p>

? ? ? ?但是對于樂高粉絲而言，似乎還是不太能了解套裝究竟經(jīng)歷了怎樣的故事。2019年11月12日，樂高大使網(wǎng)絡(luò)（LEGO Ambassabor Network，LAN）發(fā)布了題為《Go Big, or Not at All: Voltron’s Journey》的文章，里面詳細記錄了樂高21311 百獸王研發(fā)過程中的種種故事，并且首次披露了百獸王設(shè)計過程中的產(chǎn)品原型。今天就為大家簡單翻譯了一下這篇文章，一起分享：

? ? ? ?LEGO Ideas 21311 Voltron started its journey as a fan model built by Lendy Tayag. Lendy submitted his model to LEGO Ideas, where it gathered 10,000 submissions and entered the LEGO Ideas Review. But you probably already know that part.
? ? ? ??作為評估的一部分，樂高設(shè)計師探討了該這款模型成為樂高商品的可行性。它能被拼搭起來嗎？它穩(wěn)定嗎？設(shè)計需要的零件是否都是樂高零件庫中存在的？
? ? ? ???As part of the review, LEGO Designers explored the feasibility of the model. Could it be built? Was it stable? Are the elements used still active in the LEGO portfolio of elements?

? ? ? ? 一些設(shè)計師在看到百獸王設(shè)計原型是已經(jīng)異口同聲地說這是一個不可能的任務(wù)，而在無意中聽到這樣評論的Sam，卻決定接下這個任務(wù)，他認為自己可以做到。
? ? ? ? “A few of the designers had looked over the photographs of Voltron and each of them had the comment ‘It can’t be done!’… Overhearing this, I said, ‘Give it to me! Of course it can be done!’” says Sam.
? ? ? ? Sam的愿望實現(xiàn)了，他和他的團隊開始了百獸王的設(shè)計工作，這個任務(wù)的確非常困難。
? ? ? ? Sam’s wish was granted and his team got to work – only to find creating Voltron was harder said than done.
? ? ? ? ?Sam解釋說：“Lendy的模型看起來非常棒，而且是超豪華的，這非常吸引眼球，但是當我們試圖通過自己的方式來搭建它時，模型就站不穩(wěn)了。”
? ? ? ? “Lendy’s model looked fantastic and was ultra-poseable, which was super eye catching, but when we tried to replicate it by building our own copy, the model would just NOT stand up,” Sam explains.
? ? ? ?于是他們又做了下面這個版本，這個版本站立的問題得到了比較好的解決，但是總是會向前傾倒，所以這個也不行。
? ? ? ?So they built another one – which stood up better, but had a tendency to lean forward…a lot. So that wouldn’t do either.
? ? ? ?Sam回憶說：“正是在這個時候，我們看到Lendy自己設(shè)計了更小的百獸王模型，所以我們開始思考，也許樂高的版本的可以更小一些。并希望這能解決穩(wěn)定性問題，設(shè)計團隊開始用不同的比例進行試驗。
? ? ? ?“It was at this point that we had seen Lendy himself building smaller Voltron models, so we got to thinking, ‘maybe ours should be smaller,’” Sam recalls. Hoping this would fix the stability issue, the design team started experimenting with a different scale.

? ? ? ?整個設(shè)計團隊都覺得，這個樣子的商品不會是Lendy和10000名投票粉絲想看到的東西。Sam重申：“這不是我們要的百獸王，我們要么把他做大，要么干脆就別做了！”
? ? ?“So, we sat back and all agreed that this little thing was definitely NOT what Lendy or the 10,000 voters wanted,” Sam recalls. ?“This is not our Voltron. We have to go big or not at all!”
? ? ? ?整個團隊團結(jié)起來，立志創(chuàng)造這個項目最好的結(jié)果。

This includes testing with young kids and teens to see if the transformation was easy enough, and also to ensure the model could be handled by consumers without breaking.
