“反暴力，救香港”大集會(huì)

在香港金鐘添馬公園舉行

呼吁全港各界反對(duì)一切形式的暴力

盡快恢復(fù)社會(huì)正常秩序

據(jù)中國(guó)日?qǐng)?bào)報(bào)道：

A record number of nearly half a million people gathered at Tamar Park in Hong Kong Saturday afternoon to send out the loudest call for an end to violence and radicalism that has clouded the city since mid-June.

Braving the drizzles, the 476,000 participants demanded an end to all violence and the desecration of national flags and emblems, as well as a halt to attacks on police stations and public facilities.

The participants chanted slogans while waving placards, banners and the national flags and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region flags.

The city was fed up with the endless illegal marches, they said.

集會(huì)現(xiàn)場(chǎng)還宣讀了一封香港警嫂寫給孩子的信。

最近，香港黑衣示威者到處上街破壞，還詛咒并恐嚇警察的孩子。一位警嫂就給孩子寫了一封信，教育孩子明辨是非，懂得保護(hù)自己。信中句句流露出一個(gè)香港媽媽對(duì)孩子和這座城市的愛。

警嫂在信中堅(jiān)定地告訴孩子，“我們沒有做錯(cuò)”，鼓勵(lì)孩子在日后長(zhǎng)長(zhǎng)的旅途中，要始終相信愛。

Letter of a mother to her child

親愛的孩子：

Dear child,

最近香港紛紛擾擾，只有聽到你天真的笑聲，才得到片刻開懷，夜里看著你甜甜熟睡的臉，才能有片刻安寧。

Recently, groups of violent rioters broke the peace of Hong Kong. Only when I hear your innocent laughter, can I have a moment of happiness. Only when I look at your sweet sleeping face at night, can I have a moment of peace.

那天下午，你打電話給我，驚慌痛哭，原來(lái)是在家中窗口見到街上黑衣示威者經(jīng)過(guò)大廈門口，我說(shuō)不用怕，留在家中還是很安全的。我其實(shí)沒有告訴你，你爸爸住在紀(jì)律部隊(duì)宿舍的同事，晚上出外執(zhí)勤時(shí)，家中只留下老人家和小朋友，他們家的窗也被擲破了，只得互相抱著哭，在恐慌中渡過(guò)黑夜。孩子，其實(shí)香港最近很多人都在流淚，但就如我平日教你一樣，不要顧著自憐自憫，哭過(guò)后，擦擦眼淚，便得站起來(lái)。

That afternoon, you called me and cried in panic. It was through the window of your home that you saw the demonstrators in black on the street passing by the entrance to the building. I told you it was safe to stay home. I didn't tell you that your father's colleagues who live in the dormitory of the police force left their elders and children home when he went out on duty at night. Their windows were smashed and they wept in each other’s arms and spent an anxious night. My child, in fact, many people in Hong Kong have been recently crying, but as I told you on weekdays, do not indulge in self-pity. After crying, wipe away your tears, and stand up for yourself.

很快就開學(xué)了，你可能不知道，最近網(wǎng)上有很多仇恨的言論，要傷害警察的家人。是的，你的爸爸是警察，這是不變的事實(shí)。面對(duì)詛咒、恐嚇和暴力，別害怕，怕也沒有用。我們會(huì)否受到傷害，你會(huì)否在學(xué)校受到欺凌，沒人說(shuō)得準(zhǔn)，但爸爸媽媽會(huì)盡一切努力保護(hù)你。最近和你講完Bed Time Story后，我都加插了一番話，我知道你或多或少聽得明白。我說(shuō)，我們?cè)诿鎸?duì)困難時(shí)，自己要堅(jiān)強(qiáng)一點(diǎn)，別人欺負(fù)我們，要懂得保護(hù)自己，同時(shí)要記住，我們沒有做錯(cuò)。

School will start soon. You may not know that there is a lot of hate speech recently on the internet. Cuss words target policemen’s families. Yes, your father is a policeman. That fact won’t change. Amid abuses being hurled, intimidation and violence, don't get scared. It's useless to get frightened. No one knows for sure whether we will be hurt or whether you will be bullied at school, but mom and dad will do everything we can to protect you. Recently, after I finished my bedtime story with you, I added a few words. I know you can more or less understand it. I said, when we face difficulties, we should be strong, when others bully us, we should know how to protect ourselves, and remember that we haven’t done anything wrong.

你若問(wèn)我爸爸可不可以不做警察，我會(huì)答你不是不可以，但這份工作是爸爸所愛的工作，我們不應(yīng)要求他離開自己的崗位。最近他日以繼夜的上班，身體上的辛苦還可以捱過(guò)去，最辛苦的其實(shí)是面對(duì)巨大的精神壓力。我知道爸爸并沒有忘記到他當(dāng)警察的初衷，就是維持治安、保護(hù)巿民?，F(xiàn)在警隊(duì)正是最需要人手之際，我們只能支持他，因?yàn)榘职植粫?huì)離棄警隊(duì)，我們不會(huì)離棄爸爸。

If you ask me if your father can quit his police job, I will say he can, but this is the job he loves. Hence, we should not ask him to leave his post. Recently, he has been working day and night. He can endure physical hardships, but the hardest thing to face is the overpowering mental pressure. I know dad hasn’t forgotten that his original aspiration of becoming a policeman was to help maintain public order and protect the people. Now the police force is short of hands most of the time, but dad will not abandon the police force, and we will not abandon dad.

你若問(wèn)我可不可以離開香港，我會(huì)答你不是不可以，但香港是我們所愛的城巿，我們不想離開自己的家。媽媽希望留在香港，和家人、和香港人共度難關(guān)，為香港努力，直至最后一刻。我們要好好過(guò)自己的生活，想想自己可以為時(shí)局做一點(diǎn)什么，無(wú)論是如何卑微，至少我們嘗試過(guò)。

If you ask me if we can leave Hong Kong, I'll say ‘yes’, but Hong Kong is our beloved city and we don't want to leave home. Mom wants to stay in Hong Kong to spend time with her family and Hongkongers, and to work hard for Hong Kong until the very last minute. We should live our lives well and think about what we can do in the current situation. No matter how humble our attempts, at least we tried.

孩子，在你日后長(zhǎng)長(zhǎng)的旅途，我希望你要始終相信愛?；蛘咴谶@個(gè)敵我分明的時(shí)勢(shì)還說(shuō)愛，有人會(huì)覺得很荒謬，但如果我們忘記了愛，讓仇恨蒙蔽了眼睛，再?zèng)]有同理心去明白事物的多樣性，我們的世界將會(huì)變得非常危險(xiǎn)。忘記了愛，很快連快樂(lè)也再記不起。

My child, on your long journey in the future, I hope you will always believe in love. Others may think it is absurd to talk about love in such a situation, but if we forget love, get blinded by hatred, and no longer have empathy to understand diversity, our world will become very dangerous. If we forget love, we will?soon forget happiness.

未來(lái)的路，一點(diǎn)都不容易。若干年后，你再看這封信定必看得更明白。遇上難過(guò)的時(shí)刻，請(qǐng)記住，你不單要做好警察的孩子，你還要努力做好一個(gè)人。爸爸媽媽會(huì)一直守護(hù)你，守護(hù)香港。

The road ahead is not easy at all. A few years later, you will surely be able to understand this letter more clearly. In sad times, remember not only to be a good child of a policeman, but also a good human being. Mom and Dad will always guard you and Hong Kong.
